PLEX Price Spike?

Was shocked to see today that PLEX are selling in Jita for 515M. Last I saw it was around 480M a week or two ago. This is a massive jump and there seem to be less then 100 PLEX available for sale.

Any idea what is causing this?

speculation, bots, that time of the month, etc.

Miners subbing, resubbing, or rolling new accounts is my bet. Easy accessibility of relatively passive and/or safe income is the chief driver behind plex prices, and mining just got a whole lot safer and more passive.

Plus i can imagine that alot of character transfers have occurred since the patch with people wanting to give mining ago again. Also end of summer is nearly here.

These are all great theories I have not considered much. I thought it was all my happy clients taking their winnings and buying out the Jita plex market.

I think it also has to do with armarr hitting t4 in FW and everyone cashing out. Amarr hasn't been able to cash out in along time, so there is heaps of isk to throw around! \o/

Don't they have to sell all of that crap first in order to start swimming around in pools of ISKies?

I like this theory. I finally had my black and gold sterling buy order filled. Good job to all those in Amarr FW.

edit: I also converted much of my ISK to PLEX today. I don't know if the prices went down since yesterday, but managed to find a few sellers for under 500m.

All they need to is start a program. "Do not have sufficient isk to PLEX you account? Tell us and we will give you what you need!"

Insofar as hulkageddon probably drove more than a few miners to quit or at least allow their accounts to lapse, and some portion of those accounts are now being resubbed, yes, you can blame goons.

Maybe..... DUST514 closed Beta only available to those with Subscriptions is also driving the price up.

Just a thought, two of my long time friend resubbed just to play Dust514 Beta. I can imagine they are not he only two that did this and did it recently due to the email CCP recently sent out.

lol last Friday right before Amarr wen Tier 4 I bought 3 out of 6 PLEXes for 455M each from Kamela I bet that guy quickly converted his stack of FW LP into FW LP items but I'd be surprised if he could sell back all the faction stuff to buy back those PLEXes so fast... then again when greed comes to play maybe I shouldn't be so surprised Twisted

Well, if people is not willing to pay the 15 bucks per month and they want a PLEX... Of course the prices is going to go up...

Why sell it for less if we can get a big bang for our RL bucks by buying PLEXes and selling it in EVE lol... Sounds douchy but who knows if someone is playing with the prices right now... Someone with a lot of money to play with in RL...
