Time line barge reprocessing.

A center Question to the Devs here!

The new BP material table for the Mining barge divides the material list in materials and extra material since 08.08.2012. Indicating extra material is not to reprocess.

This is fair and square to anyone coming new into the Prod business and be placed in equal opportunities to the Prod vets of EvE and no magic multiplication of material out of nowhere for pre-patch produced Barges.

However is the consideration behind it to keep the status quo for keeps and a day or is there a limitation of time and one day the full material list will be able to get reprocessed. once again?

Mining Barges, for example the Retriever, contain 23.000m³ of minerals. The unpacked Retriever requires 3.750m³ of space, what puts it in the focus of mineral transportation from places you need to calculate your flight schedule rather tight. There are might be other modules or ships holding a better turnover rate in minerals than a barge…., but anyway, is there any timeline in focus?

Next expansion?
1 year?
Not before the producer branch start crying?

An answer from the masters of the universe would be appreciated.

As a side effect of this "extra" materials, ME'ing Procurer BPO changes next to nothing in mineral use. On lesser degree it affect Retriever aswell.

They'll probably be changed in like 6 months, it was done purely to stop magical mineral generation from mass reprocessing pre-patch produced procurers, and to a lesser extent retrievers.

TLDR: GM's: plz tell me how long I have to hoard this stash of Procurers before they suddenly triple in value compared to initial prepatch production.

Any Reading GM: LOL, even if we did already have a date locked in we wouldn't tell you.

And if your talking about mineral compression, ships are aweful, there are lots of things that have much higher compression ratios. Citadel torps moved via carrier, 425 rails moved by JF, lots and lots of different items have compression ratios of 40+ easily. thats 40m3 refine to every 1m3 the item takes up. A retriever by your numbers there only has a 7:1.

Devs rarely make an appearance in this forum Cry

Rare as in, I think they only post here by accident.

Thank you it your time estimate which meet mine on the case. This would indicate a drop of mineral prices in the said time (after 6 months) which further indicate the price for mining barges would remain stable +/-10% at the present market price for at least, say 8-12 months.

Thank you for pointing out to alternative compression items. Always appreciate a workable statement of people “on the Job”.

I appreciate the hint,…… guess we will have to leave it to the market anyway to do it anyway as proposed by the analysis’s of the sandbox.

I wouldn't be surprised if it never changes. There were a /lot/ of barges put on to cook before the change went through.

Oh, and for compression figures:
