Adversity, n; a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress.

Adversity. is a small/medium-gang PvP corporation recruiting both Armor BS/T3 and nano shield pilots. This is a bit more specific than it sounds; read on for more details.

We run tight, focused gangs that put an emphasis on individual pilot skill and fighting outnumbered instead of blobbing with ECM, logi, or just sheer numbers.

Pretty much every other recruitment post out there will try and sell you the same old song and dance: "we are a laid back elite corporation x and we are looking for good times and pew pew." About half of the time this translates into "we suck really bad and only use risk-averse or metagaming fleet comps/we only gatecamp/we only blob," the other half of the time it translates into "we're so chill and laid back we don't care that we welp fleet after fleet of x due to our poor fits, FC'ing, and general PvP inexperience." So before we go any further, let me clarify what Adversity is NOT:

  • - We are lighthearted and jovial, but NOT laid back. Laid back, in my opinion, equates to "couldn't care less." I'm sure you've all had them, at one point or another: laid back FC's that didn't care if they had a cohesive and sensible fleet comp, bringing basically whatever ships and fits he could get in fleet. Laid back FC's who order their fleet into definate slaughter, either because they don't the strength of capabilities of either their own fleet, or the hostile one. Risk-averse FC's who cower from anything other than certain and total victory, usually through vastly outclassing their opponents in terms of numbers, logi, or ECM. Laid back FC's don't pride on making themselves better, on being successful, or being known by your opponents as both fearsome and respectable. We are lighthearted, love to joke around and sling **** at each other and have a good time, but we never take a "laid back" approach to our fleets or the way the corp is run.

  • - We do NOT run kitchen sink fleets, unlike the vast majority of lowsec alliances out there (and many null ones as well). We primarily roam in cohesive shield nano gangs, and bring out the bigger armor-plated guns when a viable target presents itself (we don't roam around in the things per se; too ******* slow), plus nobody wants to willingly fight them)

  • - We are not, nor will we ever be, interested in acquiring sov, or being part of any sov-holding alliance. Period end of story. This also means no CTA's (hoooray!)

  • - We care more about fights than killmails. This means we don't really do a lot of gatecamping (its pretty frowned upon).

Still reading? Outstanding. This is what Adversity is about, and what we are looking for.

  • - We are largely mid-to-late USTZ. Activity is at it's highest around 0000-0600, though we are beginning to get a smattering of duders in the earlier EST TZ.

  • - We do both nullsec roams and lowsec piracy we go where the fights are.

  • - We run specialized fleet comps; AF packs, nano BC's, Armor BS + triage; no "kitchen sink" fleets here.

  • - We are based in Placid; The surrounding FW areas are always hopping with activity, as well as being 1 jump from Syndicate, a well-known haven for small gang pvp.

  • - We roam a lot. Be it solo or in small gangs. We have plenty of pilots that are proficient soloists that can help you learn how to PvP more effectively in more situations against greater odds.

  • - I can count our blue list on one finger. So you have plenty of targets to shoot at. Just because the CEO is friends with somebody, doesn't mean you have to be as well!

  • - We are looking for pilots who aren't afraid to lose their ships. If you never die you never learn. You can hide a bad pilot in a 100 man drake fleet; you can't hide a bad pilot in a 10 man nano gang that requires manual piloting, range control, speed control, "flying your own ship" as it were, and picking off tacklers without the FC having to tell you they're primary.

  • - You must have a level head and a willingness to learn, as well as being able to take constructive criticism when it is offered. We don't know everything, but we kinda know a lot. While differing opinions are always welcome, stubbornness won't get you far in Adversity.

  • - Pilots with thick, thick skin who like to sit around and bullshit each other on TS. We love ponies. And Hannah Montana. And we say bro probably too much, almost to a fault. If you're Captain S. Bsns and can't crack jokes at yourself and others, Adversity probably isn't for you.

  • - Pilots with solo/small gang experience. I run fleets often but being able of going out and making your own pvp happen if there is no organized gang roaming is a major plus.

  • - We are a corp of high standards, for ourselves, our recruits, and alliance mates. We are always striving to better ourselves, as such we spend a lot of time theorycrafting fits and gang comps.

  • - Pilots who are good at specialized roles are always welcome. If you are a good scout, interceptor, dictor, logi, triage, recon, or whatever pilot; IF YOU ARE VERY GOOD AT A CERTAIN ROLE, you're chances of acceptance and/or appreciation greatly increase.

  • - 15m sp minimum, unless your impressive killboard shows you can handle yourself.

  • - T2 guns on all PvP ships you plan to fly.

No Remorse [BR0.]

As the title suggests, we are largely a small-to-medium sized gang PvP alliance. A lot of our roaming stuffs generally consists of small shield nano gangs from 3-15 people, whereas if we have a specific target we want to hit that was know will fight (duders defending a POCO, two fleets engaging each other), we'll come crash the party with armor battleships and capitals, almost always fighting outnumbered in any fleet comp and still coming out on top.

What we are looking for from you:
  • - A good killboard history. This doesn't mean 90% effeciency from gatecamping or having your one dude go on huge fleets and score tons of killmails, this means I should be able to look at your corp KB and see a history of fighting in small gangs and
  • (hopefully) winning some times too (we understand :blobs: and :falcon:)
  • - Good activity. Ideally you should have around 10 or more members, or at least be willing to recruit, and I should be able to see a decent number of those members showing up on your killboard.
  • - Having your own FC's is a major plus.
  • - Being active on comms is a pretty big deal, so we can poke people and form up fleets fast when something presents itself.
  • - Should be able and willing to fly different fleet comps, mostly atm nano shield/cruiser stuff and Armor BS + Capital stuffs.

We have no SRP, we are not looking to ever attain sov, we do not align ourselves with the CFC or HBC or DOT Bros or the YOLO COLO or any sort of nullsec coalition.

We are primarily USTZ (PST) and are looking to expand more into that timezone (specifically EST but any works). Activity tends to start around 0000-0600.

We live in Solitude, a tiny region mostly devoid of activity itself, but it serves as a crossroads, as we are only a few jumps away from Syndicate (where 99% of our roaming is), Aridia, Genesis, and Placid; all great regions for pvp.

Contact Lex Arson for all alliance-related matters.

I've been flying with these bronies, and it's pretty cool. Would be nice if our FC could go one roam without getting scrammed by something, but you can't win them all I guess.

Join up if you like chill people, small gangs, and good fun. Also, ponies.
