More dynamic balancing instead of stuff being dumped in game and left 3 months to 3 years+. While the removal of tiers is a good thing, it feels like it's taking 5 times as long as it needs to and other more important things are being left to fester.

Generalizing:

1) Player retention would be the biggest priority. This is rather broad, but it includes:
- Keeping new players engaged and making sure they find a "place" in the game that interests them. This means making sure things are accessible, easy to understand, and give them realistic expectations of gameplay.
- Getting players past that 18-24 month "now what?" time where they get weary of whatever it is they started on. This would primarily be social in nature. At this point the people who are at risk of leaving are the ones who haven't found a place to "belong".
- Giving the bittervets live events and other such content to keep them interested.

2) Making New Eden "big" while still keeping players connected. A lot of the vastness of space feeling seems to have been lost with near-instant force projection. Nullsec seems to be growing increasingly homogenized and the lines between the empires are virtually transparent.

3) Consistent, reasonable game mechanics. There's been a lot of progress in this area lately, but there's a lot left to do.

Specific stuff:

1) POS mechanics.

2) Bridging the gap between high and null by adjusting resources and adding content so that non-FW lowsec is a more viable/desirable PVE environment.

3) Making corporate membership matter more, primarily by making NPC corps less desirable as a long-term place and making corporate ownership less trivial.

These are the 3 things I'd like that I can't see ever being put into EVE:

1) 6DOF/Quaternion camera
A camera that doesn't stop at the Gymbals basically; so you can look all around your ship without the camera locking at the top and bottom.

2) Space sim-like combat
Just because :D

3) Newtonian physics
ditto :) It would be awesome if you could literally fly from one system to another without using a gate. It might take a week to do so or something stupid like that, but I would love that freedom.

3 things I'd like that I can conceivably see being in the game Now™

1) Ship crews that matter.
Imagine if you could 'buy' a crew of elite Minmatars; they'd increase the speed of your ship and weapon falloff.
A crew of Caldari would be increase Shield efficiency and reduce timers because of their militaristic efficiency.
You could mix an Amarr and Minmatar crew; you'd lose the speed because they don't co-operate but they do work to boost weapons damage (amarr) and falloff (minmatar)

2) Command ship bonuses that are relevant.
Give fleet ship bonuses that work off grid, but only help in a system wide sense.
Give Field command ship bonuses that boost the fleet but only on grid.

3) Stop making me log out of the client to change my Alt or user account.
Because it's not 1990 anymore :D

1: strategise which three things deserve priority.
2: submit to steering committee for review and analysis and compliance.
3: analysis feedback for 18 months and produce a two hour PowerPoint presentation for fan-fest, remembering to put naked ladies in it and a pop culture gaming reference like 'over 9000'; get drunk on company time.

Oh wait, me? In that case, the same as the above, but faster and with moar booze and naked ladies.

Answering as OP intended


  1. UI becomes customizable to a high degree by userbase plugins/addons, like WoW does it with LUA and XML.
  2. POS overhaul
  3. Shortening of release cycles of little features, like every two weeks.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

In particular order :-)

1. Balance the game. (ships, mods, sov, etc). So more of polishing the game.
2. More emphasis into resolving all petitions in timely matter for customer support.
3. Adding new content.

Thats what i would focus into at this point.

If i was in charge (and that day is coming Twisted) i would:

1. Improve the UI including ship controls, camera settings & customization
2. Add/change ships - T3 industrial, T2 tier 3 battleships (e.g. Hyperion), buff black ops, T2 tier 2 battle cruisers (e.g. drake)
3. Implement avatar game play that is fun, interesting and in-keeping with the general theme of eve.

1. The addition of strategic ships much like the tech 3 cruisers. Personally I would start with tech 3 battleships. The reason for this is I love the idea of being able to fly with some degree of variety.
2. Miniature carriers for hi-sec, the carebears are missing out on some pretty kick ass content because they are limited to drones at this point. Make these carriers no more tanky than your average battleship but make them very expensive and you have a moderately balanced ship. This could also fall under the strategic battleship idea
3. Tech 3 weapons, we train for months and months on gunnery alone what is an extra few for more pew pew?
