who ever has set up a pos knows it is a ******, old, antiquated, system. i think i have a solution. you revamp the pos system to have a fitting window. you use existing code to fit the pos like a t3. you have high slots for guns, mids for hardeners and lows for miners silos and hangers, you let the eve system automatically place the guns in a predetermined pattern around the pos. hell make it so you can chose the pattern from a few presets. like the common over under grouping, or the gun ring around the middle.... the hardeners no longer show up in space. just like a ship you an see that it has a hardener but you cant tell what it is. as for the utilities they bolt right onto the tower, the corp hanger, the ship maintenance bay, moon miners, labs, silo's they all bolt to the tower like guns to a ship. the easy way to do this would be to use the ihub code you put all the mods in the tower hanger/ cargo and then start installing them. also you should be able to shift click the mods and anchor all, and it will automatically put it all in space an anchor it in order, same thing with online, online all and it will till it runs out of pg or cpu, 2 min at a time.

hell you could have a pack it the hell up and gtfo button that would be the equivalent of 'strip fitting' button

o and ccp fix ******* pos guns, i'm getting really tired of shooting my own guns till they pop so i can un-anchor my tower.

comments and criticism appreciated

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't a POS revamp on the CCP to-do list?

Also, tl:dr...

Allegedly fixing a pos is easier than constructing a paragraph.

Given your apparent illiteracy I question your qualifications to fix star bases.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

If you stare at the wall of text long enough, the wall of text will stare back.

That's what the minutes of the CSM meeting said. It's in the works, but it will be some months.

This idea is nothing new and is actually somewhat like the flogging a dead horse idea. Pretty much having POSs as a modular starbase instead of what it currently is. However guns would still need to be on the outside and would most likely need to be manually placed, primarily for strategic reasons.

A word of advice as others have stated. Take at least some time to structure your idea instead of doing a wall of text and very poor grammar. That is if you want people to take you seriously.

The op actually has a decent idea, albeit one that has been postulated over and over with never a response from CCP

The rest of you though, are a bunch of snide arsewipes, wtf cares if its a small wall of text or not.

Yeah interesting idea. I don't know if CCP really has any solid ideas on how to fix POS. They might have done it already if they did.

Wall of text. Already in process. Also wall of text. Can't engage with a 10, 15 line piece of text with no breaks or topic sentences. Try again.
