Good evening fellow FCs and Valhalla Operators The past few weeks have been ripe with drama and change. ISN’s three mothership fleets, the mass banning of players, the internal structural changes within TVP and Valhallas leadership issues have all been weighing heavily on many of us. Opinions differ vastly on many of these issues, and tempers have flared over how to react. Unless we attempt to solve these issues, Valhalla will suffer. This mail is intended to address some of these concerns, as we believe problems are amassing, and threatening the wellbeing of
Valhalla.

Since Escalation, DaiseyCutter, Nomatech, and Serge SC have been nominally running Valhalla, with bits of additional support. Post Escalation, Valhalla has grown tremendously, with pilots, FCs, and everyone in between wanting to join us and help us build. We have seen our community flourish, having grown to be larger than BTL at almost all times of the day. As the community has grown, so too has the demands on leadership. Instead of matching pace, TVPs leadership and moderation capability has shrunk. Instead of acknowledging their flaws and working with fellow FCs, council members have instead resorted to insults and misdirection. In place of discussing the different opinions people have, they have resorted to dictatorial rule, abusing the trust we place in them as members of the FC Council. This cannot continue. As such, we propose an overhaul of the political process for Valhalla, so that we may avoid such issues in the future.

Operators: Their Successes, Their Failures
Foremost of our concerns is the lack of any codified process to help run Valhalla, and the prolonged problems we have with current leaders. As our channel has grown, its needs grow too. Its political structures, and the leaders involved have not kept pace. The leaders in power have become slowly isolated from the community they run, be it through vacation or active isolation.

Nomatech ran Valhalla for a month while Serge and Daisey were on vacation, with little success. His actions prior to the other operators vacations worsened the situation. He was unable to come to terms with new opinions, refused to share information during crisis, and was a little too happy to use the banhammer against people who disagreed. Outside events such as his OGB kill did not help this progression. His rule saw the diplomatic failures with relation to ISN, mass bannings on an unheard of scale, and information control akin to a police state. Many of these traits are still present today.

Most of us supported his rise to leadership during the CID era, as a refreshing breath of sanity amid some chaotic times. He was calm, composed, knew how to run fleets well, and wasn’t easily swayed by the semantics thrown around then. Since then, his leadership has steadily degraded, where he casually throws around words like “Griefer,” never releases information about policy or internal/external affairs, shoots down new ideas for the community without proper discussion, and rules with an iron fist akin to a tyrannical dictator, instead of a democratically elected leader. He now is rarely seen, only reinforcing perceptions. Given his actions past and present, he is no longer fit to be a member of Valhalla leadership, and must be removed.

Serge SC has always been a fun, but chaotic person. These make him a wonderful person to fly with, and a great FC. But these are not qualities you want out of a leader. He reacts to emotionally, cannot give concise answers to political questions, and consistently ignores problems instead of facing them. These traits combine in the worst ways when he is tasked with political problems, as unclear direction and poor delegation of powers results. This is no way to run a channel.

Serge SC is a wonderful person. He’s funny, charming, charismatic, and runs fleets remarkably well. He single handedly started the HQ community with The Singing FC, and then Valhalla. Everyone we know loves him as a person, and as a well respected member of the community. The community would simply not be what it is without him. But as important to our history as he is, he is simply not fit for leadership anymore. Some people are not meant to run things, as famous and great as they are.

DaiseyCutter is the glue holding this tangled web together. He has saved our community countless times. Since his return a week ago, we have all breathed a sigh of relief. Yet instead of having true review of the leadership, he has escalated prior leadership policy, further insulating the leadership from change. Despite acknowledging the flaws of the current process, he has insisted current leaders will stay. He has openly stated that problems exist, but vividly denies political process is one of them.

DaiseyCutter is a brilliant person. He’s always willing to talk, has the patience to deal with diplomacy, and is in recent times been a beacon of sanity amid the questionable actions of the other members of the FC council. His absence in recent weeks is most regretted, and we hope he resumes activity in the future. But his past lack of actions are as unfortunate as his support for failed policy. His failure to help the FC council reach a diplomatic solution to ISN, his inability to hold Nomatech or Serge SC accountable, and his overt support for continued operator stuffing must be taken into account.

The Council has furthermore aggravated many of these problem by adding Landogana Kelik to the Council and effective leadership, with little community input. His own actions did not help, as he seems more like a “yes man” than an actual opinion. The public statements he has made as an operator feel like he prefers lashing out over true discussion. His private statements have not helped matters either.

What's TVP ?
After reading up a bit, isn't TVP some kind of reincarnation of BTL ?
They were all full of politics, you can't do this you get banned for that.... etc. etc. etc. while most of the people were just there to make ISK.
And Kranny, while always very vocal, was more busy kissing up to "higher management" then actually being usefull.

ISN however focused more on what incursions are about: making isk.

Oh my...

Who knew being friends with other people would get you banned from Carebear groups, huh?

It's wonderful hearing how much discord they can sew among themselves without any outside help.
