First off iv been away for 4 years.

So i hopped on my old probe/cov ops char and first notices all the probe types had been changed....no big deal, got soem new probes launched when out and deployed them like normal.(for me thats 5 probes at random points between gates) set scan range, hit scan, got a hit and thats as far as i could go.
Where did the option to fly to the point go so i can narrow down the scan ?
(ie. u used to scan then when u had a hit on the results u could rick click and warp to 0 on the hit even if it was only a point in space)

The only things you can warp to without getting a full lock (100% signal strength) are cosmic anomalies. Everything else must be scanned down individually. Once you have it pinned, you can either warp or make a bookmark.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding how scanning used to be. It seemed to me that previously you could warp to any point that appeared on your map, which you cannot do now. In any event, it's probably best to just relearn exploration.

Scanning Tutorial

Hopefully this will be more helpful than comparing old and new.

I think exploration and probing has gone through about two revamps since you were around last! Check out the video Kilrayn linked and also check out the scanning tutorials in game. I'd also suggest running the exploration career agent. Hit F12 for the support menu and near the bottom is a button called "Show Career Agents." From there you can find the exploration agent and set a destination to their system and get started on relearning the basics.

Don't forget the all-new alt+click-drag for re-scaling the shape of your probes. i.e. make your chosen shape one time only, then just make it larger or smaller using that.

Whoever did that is a genius, it saves 80% of the clicks.

It is awesome isn't it?

Well....

The vid alone was all i needed, took me about 6 min to find the sig id been chasing earlyer. It was an unstable wormhole and me being so happy to have finaly gotten it to work dived right into the hole.....BIG damn mistake lol.I fifnt find the exit before i warped off to some unknown planet in unknown space. As a result iv spent the last several hours scanning down the whole system(ound the exit but only 3 things left to find so not leaving any time soon)

Which leads to my next question, do ppl buy the book marks to Wormholes and all the things in them ? If so wheres the best place to sell em and whats a -1.0 worth(3-4 exits and a like 14-16 other sights)

short answer: no
if it is inhabited than a corp may be interested in how to get in to attack the residents, it will be hard to find one though. if it is empty someone will purchase it because they want to move in.

maybe post in the sale subforum
the only valuable info is the wormhole entrance, anyone going in already can do the rest themselves.

good luck getting out.

It's hard to sell BMs to random people because of trust (lack there of specifically). Also, all WHs are -1 security. Check out

for more info on each specific system.

From memory the map will leave a "ghost signature" at approximately the location of the wormhole you arrived through for some time. Just plonk your probes around that with a decent range (e.g.: 2AU) and you should be able to find your way out soon enough.

Yep, there's no approximately about it, there will be a tick on your map showing the exact position of the WH you came in through until you perform a session change.

Use http://www.wormnav.com in your ingame browser to see what type of static wormholes you have there. There may not be a highsec exit anymore.
