Are you tired of Hulkageddon and Now the permament bounties on exhumers???

So are we.

Several of us feel we should all stage our own Aggeon.

Call it Marketaggedon.

So what would happen to all these pirates, gankes, ninja salvagers, and such if we staged a market walkout.

Idea is if we removed all sells from market for 30 days by end most of the players that annoy us will be out of ships as well as isk from getting replacments from now industrial sources during the walkout.

Industrial players as a group are the stongest in game. The problem is we never work together.

Imagine it, as a group we control 85 to 90% of sells and manufacturing in the game.

Remeber this is just an idea now but with help it could be pulled off proving to ccp and all pvp/pve people once and for all the power of industrial players.

Yeah, right ...

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

This is just an idea i have heard talked about by many industrial players . I put here figuring maybe people could discuss the idea and who knows from there.

It's been talked about and discussed many times, and there is just no logistical way of doing it. As soon as prices started to rise, people would cash out, because it would serve their purposes.

even one day of nothing on the market would be enough to effect game play!!!

Will not work, someone will cash-out the instant it is profitable to do it.

Always makes me sad when I hear this.

I mean, union IRL have enough trouble when your talking all the people of a certain professions in a small area who all speak the same language and who all befit by the union.

Now your proposing a union of thousands of people who don't know each other, who don't like each other, who live across the planet in all timezones, speak different languages, and on top of that gain absolutely nothing by participating.

GL with that.

This remides me of an event that took place in the not to distant past, a very large group of players tried to halt the eve economy by destroying every ship that came into a perticular trade hub for a whole weekend.
The end result was..... some ships were destroyed.
Your idea: You will stick it to the man by not selling your minerals. I need ships and charges, well I have an industrial alt I will just make my own. I make my own stuff, at a bit of a loss and continue to profit. You on the other hand completely halt all profits for a month.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Awww newbies like the OP are so cute and naive...

Big smile

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Titans on fire outside "The Alamo" of NOL-M9. I watched massive Super Capital fleets glitter in the dark near the BKG-Q2 gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain...  Time to die.

Nothing stopping you from doing it yourself. Just buy out the market of everything you think Gankers need.

By the way, not everyone who builds things opposes Suicide Ganking. Exhumer Manufacturers, for one...

It's astounding how many miners and manufacturers in Eve don't understand basic economics.

If a large group of miners and manufacturers actually began to decrease market supply through an organized boycott, demand would remain as high as ever. Funny thing happens in situations where supply decreases relative a steady or increasing demand. Stuff becomes worth a lot more.

Thereby, the more successful you are at organizing market boycotts, the greater everyone's incentive to go against that boycott. It's a Sisyphean pursuit that's doomed to result in utter failure.

The better thing to do is to accept that getting ganked is a cost of doing business in Eve. If you want to be a successful miner or manufacturer, you need to work to avoid such losses through skill and strategy. And when all that fails and you lose a barge or load, factor those losses into your budgets. Then, plan accordingly That's what I do. Losses are rare, and when they happen, it's a very acceptable loss.

Best of all, the gankers thin out the carebear herd that just wants to graze on easy grass without effort or risk, thereby increasing my profit margins.

No tears. No regrets. Lots of isk.

And that's how Eve is done.

Ever hear of "The Prisoner's Dilemma"? That is why things like this don't work.

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

Replace your mining hulks with covetor. The yields are not that much smaller but your bottom line will suffer much less if you lose a ship.
