long as you pick your targets it shouldnt be a issue. just fit up a skiff or something with a passive targeter and a ship scanner and while your our in a ice field/belt mining just scan and find the people derp mining.

E:

admitedly this requires either a alt or another bro, but thats just the multiplayer part of the MMO being a ***** again

The hulk still looks gankable, the mack might be, but it won't be proffitable, and the skiff DEFINATLY isn't going to die to anything less than 4-5 alpha tornadoes.

Not counting the great likelyhood of fail max yield fits.

Skiff - with the right skills- can actually can be fitted both for max yeld and ubertank

The max yield Hulk and Mack can still be cost-effectively ganked, via dessies or Tornadoes. And, max yield will always be the most common fit for these ships in high-sec. Similarly, the T1 versions - Covetor and Retriever - fit for max yield, can still be cost-effectively ganked by dessies.

The Skiff is more problematic. Due to the increased manufacturing cost of the Skiff, the miner should still be the loser when comparing who lost more ISK (attacker vs. defender). However, I don't think the ganker can recover sufficient ISK in salvage and dropped modules to offset the increased cost of the gank.

The Procurer looks to be a no-win situation. If someone opts for a Procurer over a Retriever or Covetor, it is likely to be fit for tank, not yield. The Procurer has the added advantages of (a) still being the cheapest barge/exhumer, (b) being fully insurable, as a T1 ship, and (c) lower fitting cost, since the single strip miner or ice harvester gets a 200% bonus. As far as I've been able to work out thus far, the only cost-effective way to kill a tanked Procurer is to use a fleet of free rookie frigs.

I'm starting to see Proc gangs jetcan mining specifically as bait for flippers.

Also seeing Battle Procs flipping Hulk pilots that are jetcanning.

Things are starting to get weird out there.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

1) Hulkageddon has been around for years and miners are still suprised when they get ganked during the event.
2) Miners are actually complaining about the exhumer buff upset over having to re-rig their hulks from cargo rigs and all that wasted ISK. Pretty sure a good majority will still fit max yield.
3) If theres anything the last Hulkageddon showed is that miners who try to fit tanks to their Hulks are bad at this and tend to die anyways.

Based on the the three things I just listed, I would say that the gankers no longer stand a chance. Clearly this is a change that will greatly increase the IQ of miners globally by magnitudes we can't even begin to fathom.

everything will be gankable still it might just need another friend to help with the killing... the skiff and t1 barge are going to be uch harder to kill though.
