Seeing as James started this thread, I'm surprised one of the reasons wasn't "would start vendetta against hisec miners".

You think you're the MESSIAH now James?? LOL

Hey, at least he spelt "saviour" correctly. That has to count for something, no?

If you think the whole "saviour" gimmick is something he actually believes rather than something he uses to rile you up, well, heh.

hi

Um, no, I don't think that, nor does anyone with two brain-cells to rub together (granted, it's the hisec crybear-population and all, but...yeah.).

I actually quite enjoyed watching him trip over his own overly-verbose pomposity in Halaima a few weeks ago, tbqfh.

All you need to be an effective leader is a puppy and well-kept facial hair.

I always thought gold ak's and toilet paper made out of hundred dollar bills made me such a great leader....

Stick around and I think that will happen more frequently. Smile

Does anyone agree with the 5 things I listed in the OP? Or have another attribute they feel is just as important? Cool

Eh, I'll agree actually with OP.

I'd also add that good leadership should be able to FC anything even after having drank 5 or 6 pints of booze.

Also, a good leader has to be able to control the situation whenever it looks like THIS is what we are doing.

The real leader has no need to lead - he is content to point the way.

Actually, having seen a couple of corps with different leadership styles, those where everyone has grown into the position he ended up in and feels most comfortable with were by far the best ones.

The best CEOs and FCs I have seen didn't seek power, but were rather forced into their positions because they were good at what they did and rather took the position due to a feeling of responsibility, not because they wanted it.

While the OP is fine and correct as it is, I have played my fair share of MMOs.

I have a management position IRL and when I get on Eve I just want to be a grunt. Fortunately, many people...too many actually....want to lead. So this works out.

The OP shows one type of leader. A good one. The leader I current follow is of this type.

There is another type of leader. For lack of a better word, call them a 'charismatic' leader. These come in all shapes and forms but they all gather people around them by force of personality. They have an energy that they seem to transmit to those around them and they attract people because of this. THINGS happen when this person is around. Fun things.

The two types don't seem to mix in the same person. The best you can hope for is for someone of the OPs type to step up and help the charismatic type.

While the OP's type of leader is good to follow, the second type is more fun.
