I took the time to train this skill to improve my mining alts ability to provide the maximum boost possible. But was highly disappointed with the outcome. I was, with level 4, providing a cycle time of 127 seconds and a reach of 24.95 km. This is great but I wanted the max bonus so i took the 25 days to train it to level 5. After all that time when I undocked and turned on the gang link I was very unhappy. The cycle time was only 123 seconds and the reach was 25.6 km. REALLY???? I only got a 4 sec decrease in cycle time and a .7 increase to my reach.....REALLY???? And this is a level 5 skill????

A level 5 skill takes forever to train and then when its done you find out that it wasn't worth it. CCP i think maybe some serious evaluations of the skills need to be done. We enjoy, for the most part, all the new gadgets and graphics made to the game, but sometimes there needs to be a better focus on what we as players want and not just what you guys THINK would be cool.

Or maybe you guys could give us a don't train it cause its not worth it list. That would be very helpful.

This is why EFT exists.

Sorry you don't think it was worth it, but those of us with dedicated command alts like it very much. 3% is small, but if you're 3% better than the other fleet, that may be all the edge you need.

And FYI, thats 4 seconds for you. It's also 4 seconds for every other miner in the fleet.

It's also boosting your shield links when you get in a vulture.
It's also boosting your skirmish links when you get in a claymore.
It's also boosting your armor links when you get in a damnation.
It's also boosting your informcan'tgetthroughthisonewithastraightface

Warfare Link Specialist is a universal skill. You spent 25 days boosting 5 different ships. Not so bad when you look at it that way.

Several thought here:

Many skills only give 2%, but if you want to be the best...you need that last 2%. Otherwise your just average...
Perfect Leaderships is the goal when you start training them isn't it?

3% in PVE or mining basicly adds up to 3% more ISK. If that 3% is = to 3 million a day, (Do you make 100 mil a day?) it will add up to about 2 free months of EVE every year. Chop it in half and it's still a nice bonus.

I hate to further agitate you... but it's a Rank 6 skill, not a Rank 5.
If you really meant "level 5 skill???" as if it were something special, I just want to point out that all level 5's have the same relative time sinc.

Last thing: It's a mining alt/booster alt. This is a great skill for an alt like that. Things that you would never do on another toon, you will max out on this toon.

You do realize it is a prerequisite to fit Command Processors, and it is a 10% per level skill (that's huge in EVE). It is also ONLY a rank 6 skill.

Look on the bright side, Wing Command 5 and Fleet Command 5 are even worse.

Apply those skills to a Rorq or an Orca, add in 5/6 Hulk Pilots and it does make a big difference.

What you are training are FLEET support skills. Stand alone, they don't make huge differences, apply it to many pilots, say a FLEET of them (trying not to sound mean here) and you will see the benefits.

Yes? This is the entire point of lvl V skills (and with pretty much everything in EVE): marginal improvement at massively increased cost. It's not like you couldn't have figured out beforehand what the end result would be and then mull over whether the training time was worth it or not (hint: most lvl Vs are not worth it — people do them for completeness or because they have run out of every last thing that affects what they do).

As for this: “And this is a level 5 skill????” no, it's for a lvl V skill compared to a lvl IV skill. There is nothing special about a skill being at lvl V. It may unlock some other stuff at that level, but that's all (and that's not something that distinguishes lvl Vs from any other level).

Look at it this way, it allows *multiple links* to be operated. One of the great skills available, for a leadership character, and absolutely necessary.

For example if I want to boost a fleet I can boost both scram/web range and ab/mwd speed *in the same ship* and provide armor (or shield) resist bonus and/or repper/booster cycle/cap usage bonus. How you can be disappointed in that idk.

(yes I know fleet command ships can operate 3 gang links w/o command processor but thats not the point)

On the good side... In time you'll look back and think... I emo-raged over Warfare Link Specialist 5 - why?!?!?!

About the time you're looking at a list of long skills that give 1-2% improvement with one module or rig.....
