FW Question

I've searched and found an answer on the EVE-wiki, but then again I hear people say conflicting things, and on top of that, maybe I read it wrong.

If I enter my corporation in FW, if we shoot people in the opposing faction (where it be in their own corporation, or the NPC militia corporation) will we lose standings towards the opposing faction. IE: If I am in Caldari FW for my corp, and we shoot some people in Gallente NPC FW corp, are we going to lose standing towards Gallente, forbidding us from entering their space should we quit FW at some time?

Thank you.

correct.
i think podding drops your standings more.
i think promotions drops your standings more.

You shouldn't be going to highsec once you join FW.

oh and if you join caldari your amarr standings will rise, and your minmatar standings will fall.

Podding people drops your standings vs the opposing NPC militia corp.

It's the promotions that will kill your standings long term every promotion you receive will raise your standings with the Caldari and Amarr and drop your standings with Gallente and Minmatar.

You don't get derived modifications from promotions. You would gain with Caldari, but not Amarr, and would lose Gallante, but not Minmatar.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Yep, if you're good enough (or long serving enough) at it like me you'll successfully exile yourself from half of highsec.

You get derived modifications from promotions. You would gain with Caldari, and also Amarr, and would lose both Gallente and Minmatar.

As of July, I wasn't getting derived modifications. If anyone else wants to chime in, that'd be great.

You do get derived modifcations from promotions my other char had Caldari standing of 5.43 and I've done nothing other than the odd plex here and there and his Amarr promotions have now modified his Caldari to 6.82

Those are my 4 empire factions. Gained with Caldari, lost with Gallente. Had no change with Amarr or Minmatar.
Not sure if it changed with Inferno, but atleast for me that's the way it worked.

Edit: i do have an alt that was getting derived modifications in June, so not sure if something changed, or I'm bugged :P

There is derived modifications from promotion.
But You do not get derived modification for faction that has standing 5 or higher (in case of positive) or -5 or lower (in case of negative).

That clears it up, thanks all :)

Hmm, so fight for the Gallente and lose access to Jita?
Bummer.

Trying out all the things to do here in Eve - it's quite a checklist. So I made a blog Jakob's Eve Checklist

Confirming alts are overrated and black/red frog is expensive. Otoh, we already have plenty of scrubs who don't know how to use freighter alts and/or courier contracts, so go join caldari.

Lol. It's been a long time since you were a new pilot and the base cost of Red/Black Frog freight was a huge percentage of your total assets, isn't it?

Ah bittervets, they forget so quickly... but they get really pissed if their ideas of what should be done to encourage new players aren't taken as gospel.

No worries, there's always the trade hub that corresponds to whatever FW I end up finding, but it's sill a bummer - not a blocker, but a bummer.

Why do people still use black/red frog? Use PUSH, its way cheaper and faster.

If you're in FW, spin the button of a Major PLEX and you'll have plenty of ISK to pay for RF/Push in just 20min.
