Fake Wormhole?

So I was scanning around in low sec and found a wormhole. Great. Scan it down and warp to it. When I arrived though, there is no wormhole which greatly confused me. Anyway, I moved on and eventually found a second wormhole, warped to it, and sure enough- same problem, it's not there. There is an Incursion going on in the Constellation atm, not sure if that has any effect on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

or it just despawned after you probed it and before you warped to it. *shrug*
jump out and back into system and try probing it again, see if it's still there.

There is no Bob.

Or someone collapsed it (well that would also be a cause of it despawning). I have made the final jump collapsing a WH as I started seeing probes on scan. I'm sure they wondered where it went as well.

I saw that happen a number of times on Sisi. Not sure what was up with that.

This ^

If you take (for example) 30 minutes to scan out a system and the (let's say 24-hour) wormhole is the first sig you found, then statistically you should find that once in every 48 scans, the WH should be gone (or once in every 32 scans for a 16-hour hole).

If you take an hour to scan, you can half it. If you take 15 minutes to scan, you can double it.

That's what I thought at first, but after scanning down a SECOND one I thought it to be highly unlikely that it happened twice.

Oh well, thank you for all the replies
