Apparently there is a bug and the forums lost my post.

It is unfortunate, but we have gone back to the days where you should re-roll your character because you choose the "wrong" race.

The Rookie ships were updated in the new patch. As you know, your Rookie ship is generated when you dock in your pod and have no other ships active in a station. It is generated as a result of your racial choice and you have no way of changing which Rookie ship that you get other than to bio-mass your character and re-roll. These changes mean that Amarr players will face a significant issue should they wish to fly capitals or light a cyno field in order to let capitals beacon in on them and jump to them.

One of the most common uses for your Rookie ship is to use it to light those cynos. After training Cyno to IV, you can both fit the module and fit the correct amount of fuel to light it: in every Rookie ship with the exception of Amarr. Because these ships are generated by the game when you dock, it means that Amarr players will either need to train to Cyno V, or will require extra modules in order to preform the same function. This change ONLY affects Amarr players.

Because you can fly any race's ships, you can still fly Amarr like before, but I would recommend against rolling a new Amarr character unless you are certain you will never use your Rookie ship as a cyno. It is a significant disadvantage over the other races and the only difference between the four.

It is a minor annoyance that could turn into a big headache which can easily be avoided by simply rolling a difference race.

Yeah, you can pretty much ignore this post as cyno ships cost nothing anyway.

Oh hey, you posted this in a new section, cool. FYI, accusing everyone else of "sperging" when you just post this stuff everywhere is kind of ironic, no?

Or you could, you know, train to Cyno IV and spend essentially nothing on a cargohold expander.

It is a cost that only Amarr players will have to pay. If you want to avoid the headaches, roll a different race and train the Amarr ship skills. Then you don't have to worry about the space those ships take up and hauling them across the universe as well.

Again, it only affects Amarr players. If they want to avoid having to haul extra mods, just choose a different race. Only Amarr will have to worry about different ships or extra mods in order to cyno and you can't change it after character creation. You avoid all that by choosing a different race.

Cynosural Field Generator I costs 2M ISK. I'm sure you can afford to purchase a supply of Expanded Cargoholds for 5k each so that your free rookie ship can light a cyno for your billion ISK carrier.

And they won't have to worry about it at all if they aren't an Amarr character. Simple solution, don't roll Amarr.

Which you won't have to do unless you are Amarr. Avoid the headaches and extra logistics and just roll a different race and train Amarr ships.
