beating "unbeatable tank"

Hey

A corp mate of mine claims to have a hurricane with an unbeatable tank. Its a passive sheild tank with he thinks around 240-250 hp/s recharge and I've been offered 100M iskies to break it >:)

So i ask for the wisdom of you guys, a ship that i can break this tank, hopefully a good fit. I can fly t1 gallente and minmatar up to battlecruisers.
His tips were lots of dps, a web and a neut.

So ideas would be appreciated Smile

Do you have to win while he is fighting back?


thats a very good point to make. simply breaking a tank is far easier than having a small 1v1 engagement.

But any decent BS or t3BC fit would do the trick... if he wasn't shooting back or moving (he wants to just test his shield tank rightSmile).

and yeah corp is hilariously fun
he won't be on for a while so i have time to prepare >:)

Blaster Talos, or even blaster Brutix. In both cases you fill the highs with blasters, the mids with speed, web and a scram (forget the neut, not very useful on a passive tanked ship. But you do want that scram.) the lows: mag stabs (for more damage). Others better at this than me can fill in details, but the above is sufficient if he just sits there are lets you shoot.

And a passive regen of 250 dps on a cane is sort of sucky. It can do better.

If he shoots back, you may explode before you break his tank. If thats part of the deal, bring friends.

Edit: He will not be shooting back? Then definitely you want a MWD so you can get close, and a scram to turn off his MWD, and maybe double webs to keep him nice and slow so you can get close up with blasters.

…and if he really means a shield regen of 250 DPS, beating it with five times that and blowing large chunks out of the shield with each volley so quickly that he won't have time to yell “stop” is the only way to go. Twisted

Well, you guys assume too much.

If you have a 200hp per second regen, you will never break it with 250dps unless resists are also at zero.

Lets say you attack with explosive damage and his shield resists there are 50% for explosive. Now you need 350dps to break it... and thats if 200hp/s is 33%peak regen... god forbid 200hp/s is standard regen at base sheilds.

No, this is by no means unbreakable. A well fit Myrm can put out 950dps with proper skills....

No tank is un-breakable. Some are just more challenging than others....

Also, don't be upset that people aren't sharing their fits for this... I don't share my solo or even my fleet fits.... otherwise my enemy knows what to expect... and thats never good.

If he is shooting back you can use an Active Tank Duel Cap Booster / Duel Rep Myrm with a Neuts. Once you shut down his Invulns he is toast. Even if he doesn't have Invulns you should still be able to beat provided your DPS SP isn't terrible.

The fitting tools all report regen rates that include the effects of resistance. But, that's no guarantee that the 250 number includes resists.

Replace those shields with dual webs since he's not fighting back and bring him to a crawl. Load Void and **** him with a 1300 dps volley.
