P.S. A Retreiver is cheap enough and should fit a good enough tank that it should not be ganked too often while an Exhumer might still be worth it Big smile

~10k EHP protecting almost 30m ISK worth of droppable items? I'm pretty sure I can gank 10k EHP for less than 15m.

Good luck hoping everyone overlooks that Retriever.

30m worth of stuff on my retreiver?

No.

Ah, so you're giving up yet more yield. Well, fair enough.

Uhmmm....

A retreiver doesn't cost anywhere near 30 mill total, ship and fittings.
How are you getting 30 mill out of a ship that doesn't cost near that much, even after it's fit.

You're effectively saying that you're stealing my one leaf of paper and turning it into 30. How are you managing that?

And honestly, I have 2 strips and 2 MLU's fitted to my Ret. Not everyone is a min/ maxer, and not everyone AFK mines. I'm aligned and the second something that isn't a mining ship comes near my belt, I leave.

T2 Strips are 6.5m each
MLUIIs are 2.5m each
An MSE is 2m.

That's 22m in fittings eligible to drop for an average of 11m.

When I said 30, I forgot that medium ACRs actually cost anything.

If you're fitting less than T2 Strips and 3 MLUIIs, you're giving up more yield for safety, and that's just fine. That's how it's supposed to work (though I have to wonder why the retriever and not the Skiff/Procurer).

Maybe just to screw with gankers that make isk based assumptions.

Smaller holds.
My alt doesn't mine to sell, she mines because I can't fill buy orders fast enough to keep up with my production. Seriously, I can just log in and mine whenever I want, for as long as I feel like it. And I don't feel compelled to compete with others over how much I mine in an hour. I do it to relax and just blow time.

Honestly, my ship is only fitted with a couple of strips and couple of MLU's. But I won't even leave her in a belt to take a ****, if I'm not watching her, she's docked. When I am at a belt, I'm aligned and paying attention, and I will warp if anything not a mining ship comes near the belt.

but in practice, with roids popping, the simply won't be a difference in yield.

doesn't matter, the modules don't show you what % complete they are, you have to do it by eye, you will never be 100% accurate.

With a single mining laser, it makes it much easier to keep track of which roid is attached to which mining laser.
So use a timer like this one: http://www.imarvintpa.com/Eve/Mining.php and get nearly 100% timing. Survey Scanners are helpful.

are you being scammed at those prices, or have the prices really gone up that much in the last week? i brought a stack of mlus in jita for like 1.5m each last week.

Right now, Jita buy orders for MLUIIs are 2.5m, and Sell orders are being maniped up at 7.2m.

MSMIIs are 8.8m/6m sell/buy.

I'd Sell any you don't need. Prices will fall once manufacturing kicks up. (MLUs didn't have their blueprints changed that I know of)

i have exactly 6, enough for fitting 2 ships, i was going to buy 4 more to fit my cov/hulk too so i didn't have to strip modules every time i change ship. i don't have any spare ones to cash in on :(

I am thinking about getting into mining. i have a couple Bantams and some Cargohold Expanders.

Tears will be shed and pants will need to be changed all round.
