I had the same happen with my main except he had 15 charcters (not including dashes) instead of the 35 my alt had that (eventually) worked

I just realized that it skipped the verification code and just gave me PSN voucher. I put it in the PSN netowrk and the original one worked. So i was wrong. It is not giving out bad codes. At least for me.

I will have to give that a try with my main, good thinking. Im not sure I would have made the connection. And I too had signed up earlier with my mains info so that could possibly be why it didnt require the dust514 verification.

To those of you who got the 35 character code and are having trouble getting it to got through...ie the big white box with 500 in the middle, just keep at it trying, I think their servers are overloaded as that screen is the error page. mine worked after trying it repeatedly over the period of hours, completing one step, then having to repeat for each step after til you get your PSN code. Good luck and fly, run, and shoot safe.

hmm I figured out if you have the 12 digit key and go to the PSN menu for "redeem code" as if you were goign to put in a money card or something, the code will work there. No clue why it wouldn't let me redeem the codes on the website through the ps3 though. either way I was able to play.

Definitely has a couple issues with aiming, tried playing around with sensitivity but no matter what I set it to the aim feels mad jerky. Especially on some of the vehicle turrets .

I just don't get Dust to be honest, as it's limited to a single console since CCP couldn't get a deal going with microsoft and a port for the X360( so there goes half the console market out the window automatically), then add that there's no PC version and to make it worse, both sony and microsoft are releasing new consoles in 2013 and there's tons of first person shooters on the current PS3 as it is.

So given all the above, how does CCP expect Dust to be a success is beyond me?.

We do not want a PC version. A console to PC port will end up rubbish, will leave the console gamers a poor victims when playing with a controller and will leave those of us who used mouse and keyboard for dust514 without easy targets that can not fight back.

So please, no pc port, keep it console only, so it stays fair.

Remove insurance.

pretty sure you just violated the non-discloser agreement you were supposed to read but just clicked through obliviously. Personally I would laugh if they banned and sued you.

as for all these winers crying about there not being a PC version and claiming that "their" money paid for the development of the game by being eve subscribers.....your subscription to eve pays for....wait for it.....EVE. Nothing more. So if your truely too poor to buy a PS3 (but can afford a gaming computer) I am truely sorry, it sucks. For the other 95% of you complainers either stop being a cheapskate, even if you have to skip a frapa-fruity-chino in the morning for a month or unsubscribe to your fav x-rated website and save up the money to buy one; If your a PC fan boy (and I myself love computers, build my own high end gaming computers and play on them daily) and/or simply hate console games so much that you refuse to play a game you want to because its on console (which is really just a slightly limited computer that cannot be upgraded or modified with new hardware every month and will always play the game disc instead of having to hope that after you install a game and fire it up that there wont be a driver or hardware conflict forcing you to spend hours or days troubleshooting and maybe never get working)....well you all just stick a sock in it. Just my two cents.

As a person who actually bought PS3 to try out Dust , i would like to ask if anyone can clarify following :

I already :

1) Got vaucher and activated it on PSN
2) Downloaded the client

After the startup client asks you to provide e-mail adress for PSN , i enter it but nothing happens , no error or confirmation.
Is it supposed to be this way?
I need to wait till servers get up?

Big smile

p.s: also loggin to beta forums with this PSN account results in following error : "Sorry, but an error occured while processing your request."

For the love of freaking sanity CCP - have you done ANY market research? PSN exclusive = you're not going to make money off freaking Dust. OPEN IT UP TO THE FREAKING PC.

que no-cd crack, no-drm hack, clipping mode on, ect ect... However.. I agree.. give us PC dudes some love

1) the game is free [so no-cd crack is irrelevant]
2) no-drm would kick them off the server
3) server can detect wall hacks trivially

I finally get to play Dust and now I see that CCP have managed to ruin a game by controler setup alone.

R1 is the only option for trigger and there is no way to remap it.

R2 is the trigger button on the majority of games and muscle memory affects your reaction times.

Currently I keep swaping weapons when I mean to shoot which makes it even worse.

It is almost like a very bad joke.

You are already in a limited market because of the one gaming system.

Please allow people to remap controls to specific buttons of thier choosing. It cannot be that difficult.

I believe that incomplete Keys are being generated. The one I got for this character was only 12 characters long (not including dashes) and did not work. I tried a couple of other alts and the amount of characters was much longer and they worked fine. Anyone else?

EDIT: The Code that I thought was incomplete was actually The PSN voucher. It skipped the Verification code. Possibly because I had registered for the game a while back. Oops

And yes I need to learn how to edit a post instead of quoting myself...

So if the verification code fails then It just might be the PSN Voucher.

Yup if you had already registered your interest in the beta and received a PSN voucher code directly through Account Management, you would not have received one in yesterday's giveaway (because you already have one :p).

For full clarity for anyone else who might be in a similar situation and not realize:

The CCP code used to get a PSN voucher code through dust514.com/redeem is a 35 digit code with the description "DUST 514 Beta CCP Code" in the voucher center.

The PSN voucher code used on the PlayStation Store is a 12 digit code with the description "DUST 514: Closed Beta PSN Voucher Code" in the voucher center.

You use a PSN voucher code on the PlayStation Store to get DUST 514, and the code must be for that store's region (NA or EU).

Hope this helps!

First rule of Dust is you dont talk about Dust is what your saying. Yeah i think it talks a lot more about how they want user feedback in the NDA, but whatever, they do say that you should talk about it on the dust boards so I'll go and do that then.

CCP Alice. quick question (or any other dev who pops in)

you say that the 35digit code is for use on that dust/redeem website you link to in the first post. So what happens there, then they give you the 12 digit code to go use on your playstation? Or do they just start the download.
Cause my friends got the 35dig, and he goes on his PS3 to the website and other then 80% of the time its just a white box that says 500. He puts in the code and it still pops the "enter a valid CCP code"

Eh, they obviously know they aren't going to be able to shut everyone up 100% about a game when it's in "PUBLIC" Beta.

The NDA is supposed to protect them from large news outlets "leaking" the information, and to make sure players don't do so on mass venues so that they can control any press material while the game is in development still and clearly not generate negative press over some incomplete functionality.

Telling your friends what you're doing in a "Public Beta" area is pretty clearly not going be able to hold any water anywhere.

Use your PC to redeem the 35 digit code at the Dust website. This will give you a 12 digit key for the PlayStation Store.

The PS3 can only download games via the PlayStation Store. The browser does nothing in this regard and frankly it's rather terrible for regular browsing - don't use it if you don't need to.

Why did your company market DUST only for the PS3? Is this some kind of marketing ploy? Or is your company worried that if they included the PC or XBox market then the EVE Universe would perish? Strange...
