Refining Ratios for Ice Nerfed...I don't believe it

One of my ingame friends just did some ice refining, and he is claiming that the amount of ice products he gets has gone down dramatically.

I saw nothing in the release notes about this, and I have lapsed out my indy chars, so can't log them on.
Can someone confirm one way or the other if this is true or not.

I think he must be mistaken, but CCP does love their surprises.

What concrete numbers can he provide? Does he have a perfect refine? If not, did the amount of wasted/lost products simply increase or did the base yields change?

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

Was his refine influenced by using a location that may not offer maximum yield? Are his skills up to snuff? Was Bozo the Clown involved in some way and did he touch the ice inappropriately?

He is telling me he refined 35 blocks into approx 10,400 isotopes, and 33 stront. (He had already completed the transaction and is giving me incomplete information).

I should get precise numbers in about 40 minutes. The man is in the midst of a big move of assets.

I'm no genius ice miner or anything, but 10 seconds, and a glance at grismars ice chart show.



300 isotopes per block from basic ice types.

35 blocs of ice.

10500 units of isotopes. + 35 stront.

Throw a few fractions of a tax in there and your looking at what he got.

looks like he had approximately 0.5% tax (give or take due to your approximate numbers.

I just tested. My ice refining yields are exactly the same as they were before the patch.

Please ensure that he is first edumacated about the fatal pitfalls of the eve forums.
