Hi kids,

Even though I have played this game on and off for a few years now, it is amazing how much I do NOT know.

I read somewhere recently that with an Orca, you can store fully fitted ships inside. First, is this true?

And second, can it fit multiple ships (obviously depending on size)

I'm talking about Drake and Tengu, maybe Caracal

Thanks, space friends!

The orca has a ship hangar, yes. It can store multiple ships. The orca also has a corporate hangar for items and an ore bay for ore/ice. Note that those three special compartments can't be scanned, and items/ships/ore can't be dropped if the orca is destroyed. For this reason, many use the orca to haul their stuff around highsec rather than a freighter.

Well seeing as how the Orca is typically alive, it would not be very wise to place an artificial object inside of it. It could hurt the poor mammal greatly.

Orca ship hangar size: 400k m3

You can fit a caracal, drake and a few frigates in there.

Also, if doing 0.0/lowsec stuff, Carriers are very good for logistics have 1 000 000 ship hangars. You can fit 2 battleships or roughly 8-10 cruisers into that ship hangar.

Careful though James may acuse you of botting in it.

You can *almost* fit one of each type of T3 in an orca. So close... :(

Gate customs will see if you are carrying illegal items through high sec and confiscate it etc etc blah blah.

I have not yet tried to scan mine with a player scanning module. But I do know that customs will take your illegal items etc.

If the orca pilot enters aggro even with NPCs you wont be able to switch ships around. Its a real pain in the ass and no longer as straight forward as it used to be.
