Interesting difference on the Black Ops Cloak

I had a thought on a sort of Tech 3 Cloak,

Rather than cloak the ship completely, It also does not deactivate during jumps.
You select a type of ship with a script and then when activated makes your ship look to scans and probes as a different type of ship.
So a Transport can apply a script to make it appear to be a battlecruiser of the same race
or a Hurricane can make them appear to be an Industrial. or a Hulk can make themselves appear to be a rookie ship...

the "holographic cloak" would make the ship appear to be the other type of ship until someone came within 2000m of the ship or the ship decloaks or is hit with a decloaking emitter,
The Decloaking emitter would be another addon that someone could use that fires a pulse of energy that destabilises the cloak of any vessel within 10km of the ships position, however the enormous power drain caused by the emitter will leave the activating ship helpless for 1 minute.

I personally feel that this would add to the cloak and dagger sneaky sneaky action and could in some cases help keep prying eyes off the transport taking those 700 Plexes out of jita whilst at war...

I mean who would ever attack a rookie ship ....... :) :) :)

If this works on regular cloaks, then it is a bad idea.

If it is just for your disguise cloak only, I am not sure why it would be practical. In theory hitting someone with a decloak pulse would be considered hostile, so only in low or null would it not result in a free dance with Concord.

Also, the script you define for the disguise, what is the duration?
These occurred to me as possibilities:
Almost Permanent, and you swap it out with different ships as needed, kinda like a laser crystal. Will eventually burn out.
Limited until outpost docking.
Limited until system change.
On a timer.

It is a disguise so that your prey/predator sees you as something else, so a carrier disguised as a drake or hurricane
a small pvp squad thinks you are easy pickings, so head in for the kill - POW - you are decloaked and open up decimating the attackers, or the other way round,

you are in a transport, you warp into a system, with a holocloak on, The gate camp thinks you are actually an abaddon so they leave you alone and you get out. Or one of them is willing to risk getting popped and fires a decloak emitter showing the ship up as the transport so his friends can now attack the transport and make it a win.

I was thinking the scripts would be like the scripts used in the sensor boosters,
The cloak would not change how the ship handled though,
If you are in a slow transport pretending to be a rookie ship you would still take a year to get into warp.
