I've just got myself a new 64 bit PC with bells and whistles, its great..BUT

Whenever i exit EVE i get whatever noise was playing in a millisecond or so repeat on loop until i reset the PC itself.

I wasn't sure if this was just me, but a quick google search found another person who also had this fault.

I seem to have the same soundcard as him.

I wondered if anyone else was aware of this issue and if there was any known fixes?

I'v heard of this problem before and I don't think there is a specific fix for it IIRC.

All can say is use your onboard audio or disable eve audio.

I suppose you could try changing the sample rate of your audio output , and see what happens but I highly doubt that will do anything as its crappy drivers from asus.

If you have the same sound card turn off GX mode to fix the issue.

Does EVE shutdown properly for you?

Just check if there is an ExeFile.exe process running after you quit the game (a few seconds is OK).

I also have a asus xonar card and can confirm that switching off GX mode fixes this problem.

It seems to be an issue with all xonar cards and happens in a few other games as well. GX mode is some kind of EAX emulation so its best to have it off unless the game actually uses EAX.

Same exact problem. Fresh built PC. Same sound card.

Going to try turning off the GX mode and see what happens.

Just confirming. Yes, this did solve the problem.

Turned off the GX mode and HF (Hi-Fi) mode.

Thank You and I hope this helps any others with the same issue.

For future reference, Asus' own sound drivers are probably the worst in existence, sadly I only found this out after getting my Xonar. I now use the unified drivers (custom, own-made by some awesome dude drivers) which have completely removed all the faults of the factory drivers.
