Give us Hotkeys for tagging (target calling etc)

For god's sake please give us - who dont own a logitech G15 - the possibility to assign a Hotkey for tagging targets with 0 to 9 and a - Z.
It;s a huge pain for everyone who has to deal with it and this feature would be appreciated by a broad spectrum of players throughout Eve.

I think most people are using the "Broadcast Target", not the tag function. - And that one has a shortcut.
(And if you broadcast multiple, they also get small indices)

Tagging is fine for PVE-Stuff, but way to static for PVP.
And tbh: While doing PVE, one has enough time to use the right-click-tag-method :)

hm not really a satisfying answer because if broadcast target can easily be assigned to a hotkey so could a tag by that logic.

it's rather that the devs didnt think of it at the time but since it's a sandbox game i dont like to be forced to play the game a certain way (i.e. using broadcast target where the visual hud thing disappears after some time. Or play how i like and waste several months of my life in these tiny menuboxes)..

that said it would be only 36 additional menu options

I'm not against that idea. I even wouldn't care if CCP would add shortcuts to type the letter "x" - just wanted to point out, why - obvious - no one is voting on that one Cool

Even if they could add a hotkey to take input for the tag letter/number you want to place would be great.

For instance, highlight target on overview, press the hotkey, type number or letter, and it's set to the highlighted target.

If you really want to be able to do that, you can write a macro that will do it for you. Though it does seem kind of silly to write a macro just to save you ONE button press.
