Sweet Jesus, now people will just use show info instead of google to find out what a skill does.

Heart of Eve ruined, unsubbing forever.

Yes it is truly evil, at this rate we wont have to use as many spreadsheets or other web sites soon.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

yay lazy eve generation because its far to much effort to check modules for skill requirements??!!! does this mean prequisites will be removed from modules since we don't need them now?

Good improvement of the UI, people who complain about this should have their posting rights revoked.

As the programmer responsible for this I should chime in:

You're going to hate me and my entire Player Experience team, Team Pony Express, sooo much when we are done with things!

That is all.

P.S. Go Go Magic Pony Express!

I hope he (and those like him) hate it so much they would leave the game. Players who think having fun equals banging head against the wall are a detriment to game development.

I don't see how this is dumbing anything down. They took something useful from EVEMON/EFT and put into the game.

Now if they would only add an option to always show the date...

Making things more practical and intuitive =/= "dumbing it down". Get off your high horse.

I don't see this as being new player friendly, I see it as treating new players like morons who can't do any research. Was showing info on a module you wanted to use to see what skills you needed too complicated?

EDIT: Also we appear to be dumbing down corp management

Skills

Ethnic Relations skill changed into Diplomatic Relations and theold effect is replaced by a new one that decreases cost to hire allies in war.

While ability of doing research is a good and respectable thing, I cannot see why it's a bad thing to make it less time-consuming. Some people believe that hardships and doing everything in a hard way will make a better person out of everyone, but for some reason it never works. So, maybe we'll just stop being jealous of players who start playing these days and who have things like nice tutorials and better interface (like in this particular example)?

Being new player myself, I was doing some research on EVE history and I don't feel bad for coming so late. I can't imagine playing the game in such an "obvious beta" state EVE was in till like Incursion update (and in minor aspects, still is, but it seems to be much better now).

Does this mean EVE is turning into My Little Pony in space?

I'm all for making the game more intuitive and useful for people to help them climb that learning cliff. I loved EveHQ when it first came out as it showed me what was dependent on each skill and EVEmon did the same, showing you what each level of a skill unlocked.

I don't think anyone claimed those 3rd party apps were dumbing the game down and if they did they weren't saying so when I started playing. Why should it be different if that information is available in the game itself?

This is simply a great usability improvement and should have been in from the beginning.

I actually have said in the past that those 3rd party apps were making the game easier. I don't use those apps if you're wondering.

That's part of what happened to WoW, 3rd party apps were added to the game over the years which added to the dumbing down of the game.

Some people are just perpetually constipated. The only thing dumb here is this thread. OP should feel bad for starting it!
