Mining Barge Update

This question may have been answered somewhere else and if so, I have missed it.

Has anyone heard or know if CCP has plans to change the looks of the barges?

It's been forever since the miners in EVE have recieved any love, the only time I'm aware of was the release of the Orca. The mining barges and exumers are in DIRE need of a facelift in my opinion lol.

Yeah, because their role updates which help with income, tank and whatnot doesn't count.

Well now that we have the smart*** remark out of the way, can there be a ligit answer posted please?

They are mining vessels. Short on style, long on efficiency. It's all about the bottom line with industrial ships of any kind. No room for fluff. Asking for a better looking mining barge is like asking for a better looking rock.

Besides, I think the ORE mining frig thing looks kinda cool.

Wow.... It's just a basic curiosity question. I'm not complaining or saying the upgrades weren't enough. I was just asking a curiosity question wondering if MAYBE they MIGHT be thinking of changing the looks at all.

Although I think the barges look great as they are, and hope they don't change, the guy has every right to ask about it, lol.
When mining you spend a ton more time looking at your ship, than anyone in pvp ever will, yet many of those ships got upgrades in graphics. Big smile

Thank you very much. I would just like to see some smoother lines on the ships. If not, cool. Considering that the skills you need for Exumer invention and manufaturing are Gallante, I was just hoping maybe they would maybe put some more Gallante looking curves to the hull. I'm not complaining, we'll just call it an item on my wish list. :)

I have seen a lot of threads asking for ship sizes to be closer to scale. I agree, and hope they eventually do just that, with indy as well as military. Although Caps could prove to be immense, I think it would bring another fun dimension to the game.

I love the moving parts on my Hulk. I think it makes it look really cool and industrial. It would be nice if CCP could improve upon that, taking advantage of newer graphics cards.

I'd much rather see stripper beams coloured according to which kind of crystal is used, though. Didn't EVE use to have that, once? But then CCP made all stripper beams the same colour...?

Last month, as I undocked my Freighter in Jita, I saw some kind of capital ship undock. Dreadnought or something. It was awesomely huge. If I had been in a smaller and more agile ship, like a Shuttle, I'd have orbited the capital, just to check it out better, and to celebrate the rare occasion.

It was fantastic and awesome and super cool, and of course if ship sizes and scales were improved, it'd have been even cooler.

..um.. mammal... *facepalms*... and Orca are one of the smaller whales also known as "Killer whales" so...how does that fit in??
