Seeking Advice

Hi everyone,

I have an in game problem, and am wondering how you would handle this situation.

A while back, I joined a wormhole corp. I was very new to wormhole life, and wanted to get ins of experience.

I moved out a few ships: a Tengu, a Drake, and a couple others.

About a month, maybe two after moving out there, one of the new members that had been recruited after me, decided to rob the hangar of all the expensive ships, so my Tengu and Drake were gone.

The corp issued a statement saying that ISK will be sent out to some right away, and some to follow, etc.

It has been two months now, and it is painfully obvious that I won't see any remuneration for this.

What would you do?

I am posting from an alt or obvious reasons.

Honest advice: Get over it, buy more ships.

Not a forum alt.

Not really sure that I wNt to end up on the "don't recruit this *******" page!

And also, why is it that everyone can access your ships in wormhole space? Seems like a major game flaw

You, unfortunately were simply a victim in a scam. The game is designed to allow corps to share access to POS structure/corp hanger/etc. It enables pooled resources for activities such as wormholes.

It is working as it should, but the side effect is that you left over a billion in ships in the trust of several other people.

I am sorry for your loss, you can merely learn form this and push onward.

I get that. And it's only fake space monies. I'll earn more sometime. The question is, DO I STAY OR DO I GO NOW. DUN DUN DUN DUNNNNNN

Personally, I would move my medical clone to a secured system (friendly lowsec/nullsec or hisec) and impale yourself on some rats. Unless of course you have a scanning ship that was not taken. In that case, I would scan my way out after moving my medical clone. You never know what you may find on your adventure through W-space while returning to the local-channel space.

alternatively, work with your corp and rebuild from the losses ...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

I'm already out of the wormhole. Just deciding whether or not to go back. I do like skme of them, but it is very tough to see them in their top ships while I try and rebuild.

I thought they were going to compensate you?

If they said they would, and they don't, what exactly is this corp doing for you?

Tears will be shed and pants will need to be changed all round.

If they compensate, then consider a return. Otherwise, move on. I surely wouldn't expect such a thing to happen, except from an exceptional corp leadership.

This.

From your other response I see there's just a little bit of penis envy. Deal with it - stick through and you'll come out looking better for it.

Besides - while you work for your stuff again, you get all that extra time to improve your skills :P

Tips for living in w-space with a corp:

1) always log out in your most expensive ship. put a cloak and a probe launcher on it. You can refit for corp activities when you log in.

2) If you have an orca alt, or can fly an orca yourself, put your valuable stuff in the orca's SMA before logging out.

We had a corp theft a while back. I lost a Tengu and an Anathema, but held on to some very valuable ships that I kept stowed away in my personal orca in a safe spot.

I love gullible players. I mean yes, by all means, stay and put some more shinies in the corp hangar!

I would repeat the same mistakes one more time, just in case it was a fluke.

That, or maybe take Floppie's advice.

Either way, please keep us updated. :)
