From the Journal of a Gallente Pilot

While looking around the Captain's Quarters today, I found a journal tucked between the cushions of the couch. I found the read to be moving and shed some light on questions that I had been pondering myself. I shall upload the contents that are of particular interest.

Quote:
Day 47

The days seem to stretch on longer and longer the more time I've spent out here in Nennamaila. I've been stuck inside the station for the past few days with what the doctor describes as a "sickness caused by making too many clone jumps" and won't clear me fly until I am better. It's driving me insane, having to watch the other pilots as they head for the ship hangar... no doubt to engage in a fight while I'm stuck here in station playing Halo 2,375 (They should have really stopped numbering them after 10). It's better than doing nothing I suppose.

Day 48

I slept for most of the day, trying to get over this "Clone Jump Sickness". When I woke up, I noticed there was a rather large number of Caldari Militia in the local communications channel, though not one of them was saying a word. I thought the behavior strange, as Caldari are usually trying to prove that they can fight with the Gallente. Upon talking to another Gallente Militiaman about the odd occurrence, I was informed that the Caldari had constructed a statue celebrating the greatness of the Gallente Militia and acknowledging them as their all-powerful overlords at the planet Nennamaila X! Like any other pilot who knows the hatred between the Caldari and Gallente, I'm skeptical of such a construction and display from our sworn enemies. I will wait to see if this happens again tomorrow.

Day 49

It's really true! Again the Caldari brought in a large number of followers at a time when everyone knows the Gallente are away and sat in Nennamaila for over an hour. They weren't running plexes, talking smack in the local communications channel, or anything else the Caldari would normally do. And so, I jumped in my Helios despite the doctor's warning about flight and took a look for myself. Sure enough, the Caldari were gathered at Nennamaila X station, all faced towards the planet in fervent worship of a giant statue depicting the Gallente Eagle that was orbiting Nennamaila X!! It was the most amazing display of idolatry that I have ever seen in my life!

It certainly does shed some light on a few things.

'It certainly does shed some light on a few things'

Yeah it does - It has taught me that the Gallente write boring stories.

I wasn't aware journals were intended to be stories, sir.

This is merely chronicles of a young pilot's life. He wasn't expecting someone to find and share this.

A journal is still a story, stories are not inherently fictional (story is also where we get the word history). There is no need to get incorrectly semantic because you don't like his feedback.

I'm just doing my part as a Caldari.

Even if I liked the story(journal entry/whatevs), I must pretend that I didn't - It's just the rule around here.

If I wrote a journal mine would just say:

Spin ship for an hour while deciding on fit
Undock
Get sploded by BlobFrogs
Purchase new Clone and ship
Repeat
With every 4th or 5th entry having 'Whored on someone elses killmail' added.

:)

Absolutely!

This was actually a follow up to events in Nenna local. Got some people royally pissed off with the in-game persona I've started adopting whenever Caldari enter local (that I don't know. I still treat the friendly ones the same as I always will. No replacement for nice people.) so I thought it'd be funny to hammer his Gallente homer-ism home as it were.
