I cant pick just one piece of game music. I spent the first few years of my gaming life playing the hell out of Phantasy Star 1-4, and Shining Force 1-2, they both had some memorable little tunes.

But my mind was never really blown until the PlayStation hit the market and I played Final Fantasy 7, pretty much every single piece of music from the game set the tone and mood perfectly for me. Epic game with an epic sound track.

it has to be the Dragon Age ending theme for me

I love all those vocals from Dragon Age, not counting hat rock song in the ED credits.

My favorite song has to be Terra's Theme(main map theme) from Final Fantasy VI in all of it's symphonic renditions. It has a galloping rhythm much like an old western movie, yet is so grand.

Not sure if these were posted in the old thread.

GITS:SAC PS2 - Niihama Pier
GITS:SAC PS2 - stacomps2.dnb
GITS:SAC PS2 - Drill Field

Last one is probably my favorite of the three.

Feeling little bit nostalgic after watching all those Amiga videos (Blackcrypt was one of my favorites too) so here's couple more Amiga theme songs that I can't probably ever forget:

IK+

Cannon Fodder

Elite Plus

Microprose Formula One Grand Prix

Lemmings 2: The Tribes

and few others from more recent games:

Civilization 4

Skyrim
clitheroica
Sebiestor Tribe

Too easy.

Samuel Barber's Agnus Dei, the choral version of his Adagio for Strings, performed by Santa Barbara's Quire of Voyces.

It is played in Homeworld when you return after the test flight and your planet has been annihalated.

"No one's left. Everything's gone. Kharak is burning."

Adagio for Strings has been used many times, including in the film Platoon.

this absolutely this , i still think it is the best use of music ever in a pc game , it lingers on thru out the whole game
it is one of the things that made Homeworld such a great game even today tho it is starting to show its age

a honorary mention goes ro the full soundtrack of skyrim not only this bit but the whole soundtrack vanilla or modded, it fits perfectly into the sometimes aweinspiring scenery

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

I feel forced to add that the soundtrack of Sword and Sworcery blew me away.
Some moments in that game were just Portal-esque in epicness.

Here we go:

Halo 3 Warthog Run ... and I never played Halo Smile

Ground Control: Main Theme ... the whole OST to that game is awesome. Ground Control 2 had nice music too.

Joint Operations: Escalation - Rebel Theme ... this, the main song and its variations.

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick - Quintarra ... probably the only song in this game which isn't depressing Blink, but all songs in this game are awesome.

And now to even older classics:

International Karate: Instant Remedy remix ... yes, I know it was mentionned ! But this is a remix, Big smile

Oh, you like The Last Ninja ... very polished remix better ? ... or perhaps another Instant Remedy remix of The Last Ninja ?

I think I'll better stop now before linking every single Doom (the original game from 1993) track, or all the tracks by the top 10 composers from the Commodore 64 era.

Don't anger the forum gods.

I'm going to go mainstream here, but the Elder Scrolls series since Morrowind has had a phenomenal soundtrack.

With a similar sound mood to EVE it slots in rather well to the jukebox.
