So i sell my alt that i dont want anymore, for what i think is a nice amount, now I have no alt and the ISK was reversed by GM.

Forum entry from sale. Link

obviously if the ISK has been reversed this player who brought it has the toon and the ISK now.

This is not a complaint (YET) just waiting for the petition and seeing if anyone has been through it.

Thanks

I can think of one of two things happening here.

1. The guy buying bought that isk.

2. You just tried to sell a mining alt that was caught botting.

Given the war on bots and new rules I'm going with number one.

IIRC you can't transfer characters that have been previously flagged for botting.

Stupid question, but you DID transfer the isk to a different toon before transferring the toon, right?

I once almost sold a toon with 3 bil worth of sell orders still in place. Caught it when I was double-checking just before the transfer.

I just used the toon to mine, but now cant be arsed with mining as it bores me. I transfered all assets to my main toon then sold it - the indy toon got the isk then i pt that into my main toon before doing the character transfer.

Petition is the only way yes, and since you did that already... this is just a pre-notification to us all or? Best of luck getting it all back though, and hang in there bc it probably will take a while.

thanks op, reminds me never to buy/sell a char...I'll just stick to in-character earnings.

as of 1/2011 it wasn't an issue. i bought a toon that was flagged, used them for a while (until i realized how stultifyingly boring mining was), and then sold them again for what i had originally paid.

i make spreadsheets for pretty cheap. contact me for more info.

as we all know, nothing changed in EVE since January 2011.

fyi you can't even begin the transfer process now if the miner has already been flagged. if the isk was reveresed, then so will the toon. they won't let someone keep it.

people buy/sell characters all the time, stuff like what allegedly happened to the OP is the exception and there's usually something more to it than "oh no the GMs took mah ISK"

i.e. if you feel like you want to liquidate a character, just do it. if you want to buy one, just do it.
