There's no pleasing you, eh? You got your minutes. 11K words by Seleene back in May. Now you're bitching that it was on his blog? He posted links to it all over the forums and Twitter, you know.

What is wrong with posting the information here on EVE-Online forums? So if he gave out the minutes in his blog, what are they working on now?
11K words do not fit on the forum. Nor can you post photos to the forum.

Threads can have more than one post that get around any word limit. Not everyone on the internet wants to click on external links, when even the eve forums tell you that you're doing it at your own risk.
The earlier "minutes" could have been done in the format of a devblog hosted by CCP if the forums are too limiting.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I'm not certain it can be dumbed down any more than already done, but I like the challenge:
When talking about the CSM minutes, we're talking about two different things depending on time periods. When talking about before CSM7, it's a paper that can sum a meeting up in very broad strokes, without getting too much into detail about who said what (In earlier minutes we'd get "CCP said" and "CSM said"). It thus lacked both in transparency and in accountability (The CSM members accountability when election time comes 'round). These minutes were mostly here'n'now pictures, the last half year and the next half year.
The new thing that CSM7 dedicated themselves to was to make sure it was as transparent and accountable as possible. That's also why some persons have been reluctant to actually classify the paper as minutes, since it will not resemble the minutes of former CSM's, but will for example contain names on which CSM member suggested what, so we'll have a much better understanding of who we elected and so on. It will also contain much more general information. These minutes are more concerned with the next whole expansion, so the CSM are involved half a year prior to excrements hitting the fan, which is something new and something good.

So, the 11k words Seleene wrote would, by and large, resemble the old minutes. What we'll get with the new minutes is details, transparency and accountability.
At least, that's what we've been told so far.
So in case the entire CSM&CCP has plotted against the rest of the player-base without word slipping out, we have reason to revolt. Until then, I'd say that the promised new minutes are a vast improvements and something that I really look forward to.

The problem is likely to be that this amazing document we're waiting for isn't "minutes" as most people understand the term.
I specifically refer to it as the Summit Report in a number of places ... but the name never caught on (especially with the CSM), so I eventually reverted back to the more favoured use of Minutes.

Summit Report is a much better name.

Somebody in another thread used the word "Proceedings" to describe the level of detail that we are expecting. I think that's rather apt.

The only end-game content in EVE Online is the crap that makes you rage quit.

I too am angry and demand, throw a ball (or the CSM minutes) and dunk a member of CSM at fanfest. It also takes them two months before they can leave the tank as well.

For someone who pretends to be dispassionate about politics, you've somehow managed to capture EXACTLY how it feels to be a CSM representative. Cool

EDIT: We should probably just go full capitalist and charge for the privilege. 3 balls for one PLEX sound fair?

Mucho gracias for the compliment.

Oh its the tag, yeah I left for awhile and came back with it. (Only my lack of imagination keeps it from changing)

I am actually quite happy with the CSM, and its nice Seleene is chair.

I kind of had the tag before the whole mittens debacle. It kind of brought the faith in politics and campaigns back. Usually, digging dirt, or spending money, or meta gaming wins you the election. But here is one man, where none of that is to blame for his defeat. Only himself, only himself kept him from getting it. Its just pure unadultered politics.

I like the PLEX idea. It can help subsidize beer purchases at fanfest. That is why capitalism is nice, cause it can help subsidize beer. As long as a few are willing to part with their hard earned money, it should work. Also thought, maybe different kind of asteroids, could work for balls as well.

1st off

YAY THE MINUTES!

2nd

that horrible background on every page : ( Sad
it hurts my eyes, not because t's bad, but because it has big giant letters in it. CSM on every page and the text overlaps other text. And the gray isn't quite light enough either. You could put a little csm in the bottom left, or put a logo behind the text that isn't text it'self.

Maybe I'm alone, and it's just be bothered by it. If it's just me don't change it.

but i still figured I'd bring it up. *goes back to reading*

Read everything attentively, not even skimming over any line. All I can say is that anyone displeased at the amount of detail in these "minutes" (more like hours ololo) should put the blame on those who requested that it that detailed.

As Trebor said elsewhere, "If you really want to hurt people, give them exactly what they ask for."

My only gripes is how most of the discussion in the first 31 pages seemed like a waste of time for both parties. No offense to any CSM members, but just about everything there looks like some classical arguing for arguing's sake.

No sig.

Thanks to all that made, edited, nda'd and finally published the "Minutes" and to the chairman for the appetite wetter just after the summit.

Absolutely awesome read, some of it slightly outdated now but all of it was gold.

Well worth the wait.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

During those first 30 pages I wanted to strangle Seleene and Two Step. Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!

:)

Still, I do prefer the longer, more detailed version of the CSM Summit Report than what we got in the past.

Is the only "major" thing in the minutes due for this term of csm is crimewatch (a new name for the old flagging system) and a few t1 ship balances?

Crimewatch is a major issue under-the-hood. CCP has a freighter-load or three of technical debt (aka junk, muck, and crud in their code) to deal with, which is why we aren't seeing as many new features from them; Crimewatch is only one example of that with starbases, corp management, and contracts being others.
