I love the skill and am happy with it. But the mechanic that the orders aren't canceld if you don't have the money for the minimum quantity is realy stupid.

Been there, got scammed, realised I'd been scammed, was evemailed for tears which turned into an evemail convo in which he explained exactly how it worked and some other choice stuff he used to make ISK via others greed & stupidity.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

That would defeat the whole purpose of the skill, which is to allow you to invest more ISK into other opportunities. I have a whole bunch of buy and sell orders slowly filling all the time. And the money that comes in is usually enough to cover the money going out. If you tried to sell to everyone of my buy orders at once however, they would all fail. But so far that's never happened, and I've made a lot of legitimate money with the skill.

Hows my posting? Call 1-800-747-7633 to leave feedback.

Bolded the important part.

Your intended use of the skill wouldnt work well if you don't have the money for the minimum quantity. You will have an ISK buffer to handle a surplus of completed buy orders until the income from the sell orders evens it out.

Good old marginal trading scam. Impossible to detect.

Im pretty sure the only people in the game that use 'minimum quantity' are margin scammers

so if you are aware of the scams existence, you should never fall for it

EVER

You don't need to set minimum quantity for margin trading scam ....

In any normal society this would be breach of contract, pure and simple and as CCP own the market, broker the sale and take a cut of the transaction they should be liable for the full amount lost which I'm sure they are able to recover if they could be bothered Sad

Actually, I agree, that's what the real problem lies. The fact that there are orders remaining on the market that in one or the other way is not behaving like normal orders.

Either those gets removed or a pilot that can't cover the values gets fined or something.

Uhm , if the sell order is a shitload more then the normal rate is and the buy order has a more then 1 minimum required i'd say combined good for a 99 % chance scam attempt.

o//

Finally i can disagree with you for a change .

I do fondly remember when i just strated trading and had 500+ orders going regional.Without margin trading that would have been impossible for me at that time.

For a newbie trader the margin trade is the best skill possible. It could/should be revised so it can't be used as easy to scam but saying it is useless shows that either you never used it or don't give a **** about the newbie who's trying to take a piece of the market us vets mostly cover.

Taking a skill away that helps newbie traders big time only because others are too lazy to check price history is something i strongly dislike.

It's not the skill that makes the victim it's the victim being lazy usually just like with the old contract system of years back.

It's like saying : '' A lot of people have fallen for 3rd party scams so surely 3rd parties must be useless.""

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

35 bil is rich bro (average wealth in eve is less than a billion), for someone starting out as a trader with a few hundred mil margin trading is a life saver.

When it allows traders to set up buy orders without tying up a ton of capital, yeah, I'd say it's pretty useful.
