looking for a new l4 ship

So been running for lvl 4 and thought to myself why not run something way cooler then some Bs so I was reading some forms and 4 ships I like the most are Legion , ishtar, Tengu , Proteus. But i can't decide what i like the most over all, and i am not looking to speed tank or blitz much in any mission, and not worried about the isk it will cost to get these fitted or buying them.

All of those ship usually incorporate some sort of speed tank so you can't avoid that.

They are all capable of being L4 runners, the Tengu is awesome at it and can give alot of BS a run for their money. The Ishtar is second and can match the Domi for drone dps and can tank L4s easily. Legion and Proteus will be subpar compared to BS although they can do it, I've never used either, but I assume the Legion will have an AB + Pulse + Armor tank setup and probably a Mwd + Blaster + armor on the proteus but I don't know anyone whos tried either.

to elaborate on this: medium turrets simply do not have the range to be effective in lvl4 missions (except maybe rails but hey lack dps). that's the reason why the legion, loki and proteus are not a good choice. the tengu on the other hand can project full dps to 100+km, that's what makes it an outstanding mission runner.

TL;DR: try tengu for angels, gurista or serpentis or try ishtar or gila for sansha, br, gurista or serpentis.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Don't need to speed tank a tengu. Out of those you mentioned I would say go tengu, legion has range issues, never tried a proteus or ishtar, the gila works.. but it takes patience to manage the drone aggro.

... What next ??
