Anyone have a shield tanked cane fit for PVE that they wouldn't mind sharing?

Would be greatly appreciated.

Should I put anything in those two high slots? Like rapid lights or a tractor beam?

There's no grid to do anything with them really.

even if you had the grid, light missiles deal insignificant damage, especially without bonuses and damage mods. the only other modules that might be useful are tractor beam/salvager, drone link augmentor or auto targeter.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Not sure why you want a shield tank when you can use this? http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/25797-Hurricane-Dark-Fusion-Terror-L3-Mission-Runner.html

And there's really no such thing as "insignificant damage" below 600 DPS. If you get a mob healing 350 per sec and you're only dealing 450. +20-30 DPS is a massive improvement.

except you don't get "mobs" "healing" 350/sec in lvl3 missions.

edit: also, my fit still has more dps, more range and better tracking AND a sufficient tank for most lvl3s.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Because shield tanking is -- under most circumstances -- just plain better for missions. On a ship like a Hurricane if you can shield tank, you should shield tank it.

And frankly that fit isn't anything special. There's a rather enormous difference between 650s and 720s in terms of both range and damage -- the two most important things you can have while running missions provided your tank isn't breaking.

(Please note that this is an oversimplification and it somewhat breaks down when talking about EM/Therm rats. But in broad terms it does hold.)

This is nonsense. There are very few rats that rep 350/sec and none of them are in L3s. In fact, I've never seen anything in an L4 rep that fast. That's high end deadspace overseer territory.

But it's not entirely wrong; higher damage does kill faster in a non-linear way. But it's also an argument further in favor of 720s. Alpha helps break tanks more than steady damage.

Basically if you do shield tank, you have to do a sniper fit, which means arti. I prefer 650mm arti because it has larger magazine. So fit arti and 10 mn ab, kite the smaller rats, orbit rats that equal size to you, stay somewhere around 35-42 km from them and they will never take your shield down. Since you have 3 mid slots, you can fit 2 shield extenders and ab, or shield extender+resist+ab, or you can try some kind of shield booster fit. With shield booster fit you can try fitting small shield booster and be cap stable, small shield booster+cap mod+ab would be your medium slots then.

Edit
Oops! Daddy sugar cane has 4 mid slots. My old fits had ab+2 shield extenders+resist or tracking comp.
I have played with 3 shield extenders and found out that third shield extender was not really effective, that is why I stay with 2 shield extenders.
