Good evening,

I have been around the EVE Markets for a while now, and finally feel the need to introduce myself. My name is Carlos Hamilton and I am CEO of the small corporation "General Amalgamation". By small, I mean, myself. Fine as that may be, my focus has been on market play around the Sinq Laison and surrounding regions.

I am looking to expand the funds available to my trading pool, and by that expansion, I am looking for investment funds from investors. Investors who are not scared of risk, however, I hope to mitigate some of that risk, myself as well.

Right now, I can offer a consistent 2-5% return per month; with healthy months, I have seen returns around the 8% mark. It is just me, in the East Cost US, performing the trades throughout the day.

While I am not in any way stuck on a specific method of investing, I have focused a lot of my efforts into the following aspects:

  • Salvage/Rig materials
  • Ships of the T2 variety
  • Commonly used modules

Considering the region I play in, those have shown me the best ROI and seem to have the widest Donchian Channel spreads.

All things aside, I am not seeking a super large sum of money, just some folks who are interested in risk, moderate return, and are healthy with the opportunity to help grow my corporation with funds and continued support.

Rules:

  • Minimum investment: 100 million per person.
  • Profit Return On: 15th of each month, after 1 month of investment. (if you invest on the 14th of a month, you won't see a return until the following month's 15th. Just to keep *my* books simple.)
  • Are you able to take your money back at any time? Yes. I need 24 hours time, however, and will not send any ROI back to you if you take out before a 15th has occured, however.
  • My availability: I log in a few times a day to click some buttons, yadda yadda. Checking eve gate on my phone often, too.

Record Keeping:

  • I keep a spreadsheet and will, at the end of each cycle (on the 15th, and within 7 days after that), deliver a link to a PDF you can view that will show our account value over time.

Any questions, feel free to send me a note in game, or here.

Thanks!

Hi Carlos (or Gilbert) Hamilton,

two questions/remarks:
1. is there any target amount of isk you hope for? What is the scope we are talking about here?
2. You are talking about reasonable returns, but not about how you would calculate them. I asume you'd want to use the money to generate a share of isk for your own efforts as well. (What would be the point of attracting investors otherwise.) But you don't mention that.

Introducing yourself for the first time by creating a bond offering is not the best choice for first impressions. That aside there are a number of red flags associated with this which research into successful bond offerings could have been avoided.

Some things to consider are: being an active member of the community prior to releasing a bond, a set interest rate in the offering, a term length of the offering, a cap amount. Any kind of history especially, as it is now you are a blank alt with no repercussions if you were to walk. I am in no way saying that will happen, only saying that this is how we think.

Thanks for the replies, I am glad you took the time to send them. I'm not too into the forums as a community on the whole because, well, I've been focused on the station/region trading thing. So, true, in "introduction/give me your money" form - it's odd, and sketchy, I agree.

I've got no real community base to have come here and say "I worked with him in the past." Yet.

That said, one of the earlier replies was asking about how I would calculate the percentages. My answer would be: Based upon the amounts contributed by each player. This is not a true way for me to make money, by things such as transaction fees (by, I suppose, each payout on the 15th, I could take 1% off that, yadda yadda...) but by an opportunity to refine my positions in the market as well as the law of "large numbers" (really, "volume") helping my contributions move, too.

That's not to say I won't think about changing the "rate" of my fees in the future, but starting at them with 0% now, and knowing that I would be able to help my contributions move alongside would be a good thing too. Plus, there *is* value in the knowledge and experience I learn while working on others transactions, too.

One of my thoughts would be to have multiple orders open for the buy/sell sides of a given item; sure it seems like they may be competing with each other at the penny level, but they really aren't. Anyway, it's just a thought. No mathematical processes and no Bollinger Bands and no XO charts, etc...

Feel free to ask any other questions you may have. I am grateful for the opportunity.

I think that I will, even if I get no help with the funding, still post a link to a PDF here for my own transactions in/out and returns. This way it would be apparent the committment I have in the markets, alongside others.

In terms of a limit/cap, before I forget - there is none other than time. I would like to try this for a six month run and see where I get - thus the risk involved, and re-evaluate if I wish to a) continue or b) return the funding.

Thanks again!
