Issues Starting Second Client

Any help would be much appreciated:

I can happily start one client to play with using:

Quote:
wine explorer /desktop=eve1,1800x1100 "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\Exefile.exe"

However, if I try and start another client using the same command but 'eve2' desktop, I get the following error:

Quote:
err:winediag:shader_generate_glsl_declarations The hardware does not support enough uniform components to run this shader, it may not render correctly.
fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8.
Service jukebox: 0.001s

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) with a ATI Radion 5770 HD using the 'ATI/AMD Proprietary FGLRX graphics driver', available from within Ubuntu. According to the Catalyst Control Center this is Catalyst Version 12.6 and driver 8.98.2.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, as Eve with one client is painful.

So, an update -

If I try and now launch one client with the command above, I get the error I used to get if I only tried two. I can also run two Eve clients OK within one virtual wine desktop by running both clients off the desktop shortcut. This however doesn't work if I make the emulated desktop any bigger than 1680x1050.

This is driving me mad.

one wine folder - one eve client
two wine folder - two eve client
and so on

some read - http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Multiple_clients

how I prepared folders for economy of a place on hdd

1. create folder - /mnt/disk-3/game/eve
2. lanch winecfg for creating wine directories - WINEPREFIX="/mnt/disk-3/game/eve/.wine_1" winecfg
3. install dlls - WINEPREFIX="/mnt/disk-3/game/eve/.wine_1" winetricks corefonts vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010 d3dx9 msxml3
4. create a directory where eva will be installed - /mnt/disk-3/game/eve/eve_data
5. run winecfg and add disk (E:) with path - /mnt/disk-3/game/eve/eve_data
6. install eve - WINEPREFIX="/mnt/disk-3/game/eve/.wine_1" wine eve_installer.exe
use a disk (E:) for eve folder installation - e:\eve
7. copy folder .wine_1 into .wine_2
8 create two labels for run eve - with commands and work dir :
8.1 WINEPREFIX="/mnt/disk-3/game/eve/.wine_1" wine explorer /desktop=eve1,1280x1005 "E:\\eve\\eve.exe"
and work dir - /mnt/disk-3/game/eve/.wine_1/dosdevices/e:/eve/
8.2 WINEPREFIX="/mnt/disk-3/game/eve/.wine_2" wine explorer /desktop=eve2,1280x1005 "E:\\eve\\eve.exe"
and work dir - /mnt/disk-3/game/eve/.wine_2/dosdevices/e:/eve/

so - we have - a single eve data folder , two wine folders for Cache and Settings folders and two virtual wine desktop

then start 1 eve client - if start patching wait do not start other eve clients
when finish patching - start other eve clients - it will be patched

p.s. run each EVE program in windowed mode

I multi box with 5 clients and had issues with only being able to run 2 clients unless I changed the allowable number of open files. sounds like a simiar error.

To do this sudo gedit /etc/security/limits.conf from the terminal

Add these 2 lines before the # End of file tag:

* soft nofile 10000
* hard nofile 100000

Save it and try loading the 2nd client. not sure if a reboot is required or not.
