Help me decide on a final project

So in my 3ds design theory class we have been handed details of our final project which gives us roughly 5 (or was it 6?) weeks to work on it. The project is to research and build a modern design house, first with cardboard, then in 3ds Max. For any who don't know modern design homes, they appear much like modern art, consisting of a lot of prominent geometric shapes, large windows, and no roof so to speak.

The better half of my day has been staring at who knows how many pages of house designs. I'm supposed to come up with at least 3 tonight to look over with the teacher before choosing one and being handed a modeling knife to run with. The teacher gave a couple of examples from the last class and it appears that everybody and their brother either did Villa Savoye or the infamous zombie fortress, so those 2 are out of the question for me.

I have comprised a list of homes so far that look like they may be fun to draw and hopefully not too complicated. I'll number them to make it easier to discuss.

One
Two
Three
Four
Five
Six
Seven
Eight
Nine
Ten

So far I'm leaning towards 6 or 7. 9 and 10 have floor plans available which would be a huge boost. A lot of these homes are going to require a bit research as well because I want to hopefully get as many angles of the house as possible.

Tell me what you think or let the thread die quietly. I'm going to spend the next hour loading all those pictures into separate folders on my thumbdrive but I'll stop by every now n then to see if any opinions have been made.

I'd say 10~2~5~9~8~6~1
Personally I like 2, but I think thats because of the concept :over water so I won't rely too heavily on that.
But I like 10 and 5 a lot

If it has to be one of the 10 you listed Mike D. I would go with number 2 that one looks awesome!

As most of those look like modern versions of what Frank L. Wright would build today, is one of his houses up for consideration?Would doing an older structure that fits into the 'modernist' design be allowed and maybe set you apart?

That being said I do not know who these arcitets are or how long they have been designing.

I have been to the folllowing Wright houses and I really enjoyed them.

And probably the sterotypical Wright favorite Falling Water.

I'm always open to suggestions. The ten above are simply what I've narrowed down from the several hundred that I've been staring at today and those were chosen from 40+ links that I had built up on my tab.

The house in the first link almost looks like a fancy mobile home. The second one I could probably do if I looked for more pictures of it.

Just showed them to the teacher and she's insisting on #9 mostly because of that curved roof. Lucky for me it's got a floor plan so I won't be completely stumped. Hopefully in 5 weeks I'll have something to show all 3 of you.

Nine looks pretty. I wouldn't live in it tho. I favor privacy and I don't like to call attention to myself. Functionality over looks always gets my vote.

Number Ten has something I like. The open patio in the center of the house is an awesome thing. But the rest of the house looks smallish and kind of a PIA to move around on a daily basis.

Make the house look like the crucifix being drowned in a jar of urine.

6 is amazing! okay could have a better view from the pool

although for a bunch of them they just feel a bit too open and a bunch of space seems wasted. that and all the outside space would be wasted in winter, some of us still have winters, hurry up global warming!

8 seems like an awesome ski lodge

9 is pretty damn awesome looking.
also I feel like a bunch of them are bad designs from the 80s, but what the hell do I know?

It makes the best use of the vertical and horizontal to let in more light and add space/depth.

It also looks more neutral, allowing another person to project into and onto it, which no doubt will sway an invigilator - plus 3D Max likes white, and if using vray (and you have a lot of nice colorful textures) with a late PM Sun, the ambient light will be stunning.

The one on the river is the worst, because it's trying too hard and no one would respect something that tries too hard...like a fat girl trying to ask out the quarterback, it'll be a car crash in slow motion.
