Hello

English is not my mother language and I would just not understand a single thing anyways so... Can I be valuable for a corporation without using voice?

I want to be a pirate and play in lowsec P

That would depend on the corp itself. However, there are many non-english corps in eve. Try joining the 'Recruitment' channel and search for your fellow countrymen Smile

That is a good idea indeed, but 95% of corps are English.

I guess I can be a shield supporter (logistics) or something like that which doesn't require too much communication.

What language are you looking for?

it is possible, but personally I think it will be very hard.

As usually the voice comms are used by fleets for eighter orders of intel.

Also on shield logistics, that too requires comms as usually people will actually ask on comms for reps or the FC will tell who to rep first etc.

My suggestion, search forums, join the recruitment channel and your native language channel and start searching.
There might be a PvP corp in your native language that is looking for pilots.

Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

Help channel: Help chat - Reloaded

Public roams channels: RvB Ganked / Redemption Road / Spectre Fleet / Bombers bar / The Content Club

My spoken English was terribad a few years ago. That changed _by_ playing EVE in a PvP corp.

Are we sure that 95% of the corps are in English?

Or does it just look that way? Could it be the case that English-language corps tend to be more visible than non-English-language corps?

Note, I'm not saying this is the case. English is the lingua franca of this age. I'm simply asking a question.

Maybe a non-English channel would be good to counter spies?

I think she means that 95% of corps use english (including german and some russian corps mostly). Which is still a bit exagerated, but it's true that knowing english gives you acces to most corps in eve.

As for teamspeak. You can rely on fleet broadcasts (Provided that your FC actually uses them) but you won't be as reactive. I don't recommend it, but yes it's possible.

Even if english is a problem for you, use teamspeak just to listen (you don't have to talk, and most FC prefer a silent TS anyway) and follow orders.

You don't have to understand everything. If you ear "fleet jump", you jump, "warp 0" you warp, "Primary us X" you attack X first. It's that easy really.

FiS should be the priority, but WiS should not be burried!

Don't encourage CCP to make empty promises or Incarna will happen again!

You could try mumbl or ventrillo...

trolling aside, you really only need to understand 10 words or so to get the gist of a fight.

jump. tackle. primary. run. bubble. cyno. uh... i guess you really only need 6 or so words...

and your in lowsec so you dont need to know bubble.

Also a lot of fleets will have slightly delayed commands typed into chat is you request it. At least they should. Ive been lead by FC's that dont speak English and we did ok. He did know a few Englidh words like jump n stuff. but his accent was horrible.

In most larger fleets you can just follow the blob of ships and watch the broadcast history and do fine. In smaller fleets, just have what you are gonig to do explained before you start and the majority of fights will be self explanitory.

Your English will only improve through the use of Teamspeak Big smile As others have stated, there are plenty of corporations that use languages other than English. You don't state what your native language is... if you could share that here, we'd all probably be able to point you better in the right direction, also.

What you do for yourself dies with you, what you do for others is immortal.

Been mentioned but not explained. TS or other comms is a requirement for any serious PVP fleet. Usually if you are not visible in TS then you could be kicked from fleet and if you are not in fleet you will probably be kicked from TS. Why? Spies?

Though you will never stop spies we do not want to make it easier for people to be one.

What is your first language anyhows?

I have had deaf people play with us., in PVP null sec.

Had one start becoming an FC, as she was a Awsome, and blood thirsty, Pilot.

There are broadcast targets command and other elements of the game lazy speaking people forget about. i use mainly for mining.

Get used to these commands, Join a PVP Corp, request that you take out drunk'n frig roams, Do all you commands in Fleet channel and Fleet commands. and Stat the Voice ops is for social purpose.

You may have to train people on using these features but in the long run you will be able to operate a second squad with in the main fleet with out clogging up Voice coms, Making you a valuable asset.

Though you may find some corp that actually speaks you language you may be able to join. This makes a stronger community with in the corp.

To build up your skills in using the Eve call system. you may want to attempt to join a smaller PVP corp - ie griefing corp or small merc corp. first. Or a Care Bear Corps that does Missions, and learn the call system there

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships

Hello there.

It will be hard for you to find a corp that is willing to take you in unless your willing to use some kind of voice coms. Being norwegian my self i more or less learned how to talk, and write english in Eve. It takes some very patient corp members tho Big smile
And they are still having a blast pointing out my grammar and spelling mistakes Blink

But here is my advice. Jump into whatever language channel your main language is (found under languages in the channel vindow). Chanses are good that you will find a corp in there that does what you want to do. Few non english speaking corps tend to use the recruitment forums which is most likely why it seems like there are so few.

But as someone else here also said it IS possible to pvp,and even fc without the use of voice. The problem is finding someone who is willing to give you a chanse. But keep looking and you will eventually find someone Big smile

Good luck and have fun!
