cant see a topic for this so thought id start one.

been getting this and hearing about this from many people in fleets.

fleet jumps, random members, myself included dont load grid, ctrl, shift, alt, m shows no outstanding entries and you sit waiting but nothing loads. only way to fix is relog, might happen again, might not.

dosnt seam to be dependant on fleet size, although more people get the bug the more people in fleet

anything being done about this bug? if there isnt a ticket for it, ill try running logsever and put one in.

OMG when can i get a pic here

Hi!

We know about this problem and we have a ticket about this, but the ticket is at the moment waiting for more information. Bug reports with all kinds of information would be awesome. Optimal would be to to get a log from logserver.exe, but also to send a bug report from the ingame bugreporting tool after this issue happened (but before relogging). It is clear, that it will be difficult to get the time for this during fleet action, but perhaps you find a good moment.
Please add my name to the topic of the bug report to make it easier to find it.

Please also add as many details about the jump as possible. We have a hint, that pressing the jump button several times might increase the likelihood of this bug, but we have no proof yet for this.

Btw: There is a similar, but very probably unrelated, problem around, which is caused by the time drift of the client computer. This can happen on some hardware under extreme CPU load. In these cases the grid loads after waiting for some time.

do i need to run a log sever for each account, or will one pick up all accounts running?

also something i noticed, the client dosnt load grid, but the ship is loaded, able to take fleet warps and such. but the client remains in the midway point of loading(showing system info, but blackk back grounds no stars and no ability to register commands).

also, if i actually spend the time using the bug reporting tool while stuck in the bug zone, will i get my ship reimbursed when it no doubtly explodes?

I only get this in fleets and I don't spam the jump button. Other RvB guys get it, too. I made a bug report under 'technical' with two logserver files I think are related (I hope are related)

One log server is enough, it will gather logs for all running clients. It will be useful to mention in the bug report that several clients were running, to make it easier to read the logs correctly.

About reimbursement: I have nothing to do with reimbursement, so I cannot really answer this question. This bug is not showing up in any server logs (as far as I know), so it might very difficult for you to convince our customer support to reimburse the ship. Best is to only use the bugreporting tool, while you are not in danger of being attacked.

Thank you! I had a short look at the logs, but I'll need to dig deeper into it next week.

I never used to get this bug before (like, twice in a lifetime kind of never). But starting two days ago (Friday the 3rd) I'm getting it almost every time whenever a big fleet (200+) jumps systems together, whether by gates or a titan bridge. I hope this bit of info helps. I'll run logserver and send the reports next time I'm in a fleet.

Didn't this same bug happen about 2 years ago?

I seem to remember it being a massive disaster for gangs at the time and that bridges (titan/pos) however worked fine.

this is different, then was a black screen of doom. nothing loaded. this time its sorta loading, your in fleet warps etc, but your client thinks your still jumping and assumes that its loading still.

side effect of big fleets TiDi'ing when jumping though gates im gonna guess.

Started getting this bug the other night while in a 80man fleet. We Titan bridged to a system.

It was taken me over 1 minute to jump through gates. (I always click the jump button once. Never spam) My client crashed going through a gate with hostiles on so I just didn't relog

Next morning I logged on expecting my 800mil isk Loki to be blown up but thankfully it was still in one piece. I fly up to highsec so I could launch the Logserver and do some testing to submit a bug report.

Of course as soon as I opened the log server the problem was gone. Was fine all day yesterday so I flew back down to Nullsec.

So I log on today and its happening again. Worse now though as after waiting the 1/2 mins to jump into the next system, When the grid loads its as if I just logged on. My ship will have a short warp before I can command it to warp to the next gate.

Actually now that I think of it this also happened when The fleet Titan Bridged the other night. I had to warp to my FC after jumping.

Very strange and highly game breaking.

PS.

I have 4 accounts and all the characters on the other 3 accounts are fine. The only one with this problem is my PvP Main in Nullsec.

Naturally!! :)

Will try submit a bug report later today but I dont like doing these tests in Nullsec.

CCP has known about this utterly game-breaking bug for months and clearly has not got the technical ability to fix it.

I am only still here as I have some isk and use it to buy plex but once that's gone I will regrettably be leaving.

This bug completely ruins my gaming experience. Amazingly I have only lost 3-4 ships to it directly but 10's of times I have been stranded from the main fleet in an expensive ship playing catch up or got stranded and had to log off cos its gone too hot or jumped into a big fight and missed it.

Went on a ~25 jump roam the other day w/ ~150 in fleet and it happened 3 times.

Really have lost confidence in CCP.

How constructive, Haoi

e: but yeah our FCs are getting this and need to relog as well. Pretty disruptive.

(Since it seems to happen with lots of people jumping at once, I guess you could avoid it by hanging back for a moment?)

The only time I'm in a big fleet is Sisi mass tests. But in those Ive been getting this bug for about a year. Its an old bug, apparently difficult to find.

I have found a workaround that seems to be working for now: don't jump at the exact same moment as the fleet. Wait 10-15 seconds after the jump command is issued, and then jump yourself. So far I didn't have the problem since I started doing that.

Been going on forever it seems

The linked thread is about the problem with time drift, which I mentioned in my first reply here. As far as I can see these problems are unrelated, but we are still investigating.

Abdiel Kavash: Thank you, this is very useful information. This might make it easier to reproduce the issue.

I must have a different problem myself then.

As I get this while not in a fleet and just traveling by myself..

I am being constructive, my fellow corpie.

I am a paying customer (well Plex) and am entitled to criticize. This bug has been going on for too long and is a BIG one.

Some bugs are difficult to crack, sure, but with enough resources and monitoring I am sure this one can get cracked also.

Perhaps I shouldn't have said "technical ability" and said "resources" instead. CCP are quite far ahead of the competition in terms of network code, latency and handling 800 vs 800 fights. Lots of other games would buckle. And they were innovative with their implementation of time dilation (which is where I suspect this bug got introduced).

But I get the impression that only one guy is working on this: CCP Habakuk. Maybe it needs a team of 10.
