According to CSM notes Eve's economy is deflating

"CCP Dr.EyjoG started with a general review of the EVE economy. While inflation has been high recently, looking at the economy over a longer term the recent inflationary spike was not bad until April. This spike was caused by speculation during the run-up to Inferno, and the inflation rate dropped sharply in May (Editor’s note on this particular matter: Inflation numbers have dropped very rapidly in June and we are now in a period of deflation)."

The summer doldrums strikes again! This is at least the second year in a roll, discuss...

I'm sort of surprised the mineral scarcities didn't keep inflation rising over the entire summer

:Summer:
it's generally deflation friendly for EvE.

As for the inflation "due" to mineral prices, I am not sure you may relate the two as causation.

While short term scarcity creates an effect similar to inflation and sometimes even inflation itself, we had a longer term high inflation due to currency over-supply (too many ISK faucets vs sinks).

So what happened are three effects: nerfs squashing ISK faucets plus the scarcity effect plus (partially countering the above) the summer drop in items demand effect.

.

I was thinking of the inflation of ship prices due to mineral scarcity from the Drone poo removal

I am curious if there was that great a squashing of the ISK facets. Summer I agree is a time of deflation same thing happenedlast year. While the Incursion community payouts I suspect did get cut by 75%+ ( CCP Diagoras where are you to verify ) people went back to level 4's & now we have drone bounties as an additional ISK faucet. I'm willing to bet bounties totals have jumped 10%-25%

Drone bounties first. A napkin estimate based on what Diagoras stats I do have would put the isk faucet from them at about 330b/mo, with a top end being around 500b/mo. By comparison, we had 32 trillion worth of bounties paid out in February. Comparing those numbers means that that faucet jumps by a couple percent at most.

Regarding missions and potential flight from incursions: The incursion faucet was (in Jan and Feb) on the order of 8.5-9T per month, a number which I'd say is probably accurate at least through April. Can't recall when incursions were nerfed. In any case, mission rewards and time bonuses are balanced (and then some) by the LP store and I would imagine that the increase in mission bounties is at least no larger than than the corresponding drop from incursion rewards - mission rats are worth considerably less than belt rats.
