When was flying an Aeon or Avatar the end game of EVE?

Why are people setting my end game?

Currently, my goals are 10b isk and one of every subcap Pirate ship.

How may I drug you with drugs?

You should fly T1 fit Rifters for a change... tons more fun than fat supercaps even if you die repeatedly!

Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Now that supers have been nerfed into the ground, CCP has about 6 months to come up with a new "end-game" or this game will be dead.

Hardcore, "hobby" type players are the core of EVE. The people who drive fights, produce the most in the economy, and so forth.

If you nerf their "end game" toy out of the fight, you need something to replace it.

Perhaps WiS will be the answer, or maybe a new class of T3, but CCP... seriously, you have to think this through.

MMOs live and die based on their end game. There has to be something that n00bs get excited about once the initial novelty wears off after the first few weeks/months.

CCP may have a PhD economist on their staff, but their psychology/marketing people are re-tards. EVERYONE who plays an MMO has some sort of fantasy of power. There has to be an end-game.

Also, my spaceship was really expensive and I am mad, bro.

Your assumption is that there is supposed to be an endgame in eve. The sandbox is what you make of it, not what CCP designates what is 'endgame'.

source? I remember hearing years ago on the old forums that a vast majority of active accounts were less than 1 year old. Really, no statement should be made without subscription data.

Well this is a bit unsupported. Other than the introduction of T3 there has been no new toys since 2007 (teir 2 bc and teir 3 bs). Sure there have some minor items and some gimmicks but the fact remains that the player-base is roughly 10x what it was when these ships were introduced. My theory is that Eve content is generated by the players in terms of nullsec wars and whatnot.

Endgame is whatever you decide it is.

"Owning the biggest bestest ship ever" is only one, small, narrow-minded way to define endgame.

Similarly, many people consider nullsec the ultimate endgame, and hordes of players flock out there only to find it mostly empty, not particularly profitable, and PvP only existing at its blobbiest.

A happy satisfied player finds new goals all the time in a sandbox game. There is no need to constantly increase the level cap (same as asking for a new supercap toy) when there is so much else to pursue.

Endgame for some is being the richest player in eve - for others its just dominating one item in the market. Endgame could be mastering solo dogfight against a superior ships, or finally assasinating one pesky pilot who has bested you for years.

Endgame could be forming a corporation, and alliance, or a coalition. Endgame could be dismantling an Alliance. Endgame could be winning the most kills of your militia for 3 months straight. Endgame could be organizing a carrier take-down involving noobships.

Endgame could be starting a casino (Somer Blink) and never having to work for isk again. Endgame could be getting elected to CSM.

Endgame could be working for CCP, designing the game you love. Endgame could be designing a new ship and having it implemented in the game. Endgame could be building a supercapital ship. Endgame could be learning to cook every dangerous and rare booster in the game.

Endgame could be scamming players out of a trillion isk in a Ponzi scheme.

Endgame could be roaming with friends in rifters, like you've done a thousand times before, just because its your favorite ship and you're still having fun.

Endgame is what you make of it. Use your imagination, and encourage others to do the same!

Master forum warrior.

Mr Epeen Cool

Forums got nerfed into the ground too.

Why u not mad bro?

Your end game has no colors or ponies!

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

The end-game in Eve has never been about flying the biggest ship. It's always been about making the biggest difference or having an impact to the game. Whether that is in game through corp or alliance influence or through the CSM or through other means, the game is more than flying the biggest. It's about being the best you can be. I, for one, welcome our new frigate overlords.

Couldn't be bothered to read this whole thread.
Sandbox games by definition have no "end game".

Speaking frankly, no MMO has an "end game". You can reach end of your personal life though waiting for new content in themepark MMOs, bored to death being a hero just like all the rest of em, while in a sandbox like EVE you reach "end game content" when your brain tells you it can't cope anymore or can't come up with new stuff to do.

That is when you take a break. Take a break and mourn your superCap is my advice. Come back when you see the depth that can be EVE again.
