I know this would be a big change compared to what eve has to offer already, but buying each component of a fit is a small hassle. Having to right click each module->view market details->buy. Something that would be really nice to have one day is a quote system.

So on the saved fit would be a button to buy all the modules, this would bring up a quote screen with all the modules at the best price within a user defined number of jumps. Obviously if you are at a decent trade hub this would be easy to ensure all the modules are available in current station.

The user can define certain parameters to adjust weighting towards same station or towards cheaper price.

If the quoted items are to the user's satisfaction all they need to do is click buy, which will buy all the items and then click the already available 'fit' button to fit their favourite setup quickly. If this is done from a trade hub which usually has all the components available the user could have their usual fitting sorted within 2-3 clicks.

At the moment the system is 'ok' (satisfactory, but not exactly great), but if you are into faction warfare (and not very good) you are having to do the same process over and over. Would be reaallly nice to be able to just say 'buy this whole fit', confirm prices and then 'fit' and get straight back out.

I got it that you all would like a "Buy Fit" button but it's totally out of scope for these little improvements I'm making for saved fittings. It's also a market change, not really a saved fittings changes and not a little thing Blink

Come on! It can't be that hard to create a mechanism for bulk buying and selling items with varying prices and quantities that change constantly, all you have to do is draw a button for it in MS Paint :D

Just stick it on a list of todo's for 2018 or something, that way it might even beat the time frame our government gave for paying back money they took for olympics.

and for the slightly sarcastic remark about making a simple button in paint Blink, i'm a programmer, i know the kinda work involved in networking/ui changes.

Just make a list in a Quickbar folder with all stuff on 1 fitting, works for me... maybe for others too? #compromise?

You can do that, just drag the fitting to the quickbar. CCP Karkur did it a few months back. (Don't want to give CCP Punky all the creditz) P

Great work, I've loved the fitting tool since it came out. It's one of the most useful tools in EVE. I have a couple of suggestions since we're on the topic :)

- How about removing the limit of 100 stored fittings when on the CCP server?

- Since it already knows whether we have the skills for the fitting or not, how about an indication whether the fit puts us over the CPU or PG limit before it's fitted?

There are awesome tools out there like EFT and PYFA but for the new player, everything we can do to make it easier for them to avoid being frustrated is a good thing in my opinion Big smile

Cheers

thanks for the creditz Big smilebut I didn't actually implement it... it was Team Papercuts. But I did fix some issues with it, and then made a similar features so now you can SHIFT drag blueprints into your quickbar and get a folder with all the materials needed for a selected activity, and some other quickbar changes Smile

Could the right click fuctionality be added to the right click of a blue print or some other place so that more people will know that that utility function is included now.

2) When dragging and dropping a fit onto the market hotbar (A GREAT THING! <3 ), could you also place the ship hull in the list? Nothing more embarassing than buying the full Orca fittings and then discover you forgot the Orca itself!
I like it... let's do it! (sometime). This is what I did with the blueprints.

Vaerah Vahrokha wrote:
3) When dropping a fitted ship (i.e. from the ships hangar in station or at POS) on the market hotbar, only the hull gets in there.
Now, showing just the hull makes sense when dropping 1 or more repackaged ships.
But in case of fitted ships what about copying the same behavior of the fitting window and so create a folder with said hull and all the various modules etc, like if you dropped a saved fitting? The code to do it looks basically similar.
I like this one too... maybe by SHIFT dragging or something like that? (although some people wouldn't be happy with that hidden featureP)

Vaerah Vahrokha wrote:
4) You gave us the nice ability to drag and drop show info / links pilot names into the "Name" edit box of the private item swap contracts. Could you please also make it possible to drag and drop the finished / active contracts price into a new contract?
Maybe... I wouldn't hold my breath on that one though.

Vaerah Vahrokha wrote:
5) Manufacturing window: you know when we get to the "Accept quote?" window we get a table with the list of stuff.
It'd be really nice if we could drag the item names into a chat.

I.e. if I need Crystalline Carbonide Armor Plates, I'd love to be able to drag such name on a chat and ask for it and similar.
makes sense... I'm not sure if it's that easy though because I think the quote window is modal and I'm not sure if you can drag it to chat then.

Vaerah Vahrokha wrote:

Another great feature would be:
Right click on "Accept quote?" window => Copy to clipboard

We got it for other table windows, it'd help nicely to do it for materials, so if we miss just 10 of this and 20 of that we can later paste the names and quantities on the market window.
Why not just add the ability to use ctrl+c to copy it like in the other tables? If it doesn't already have that, I'll add it, but I'm not sure about the right click thing.

It works but the fact that you have to hit a short cut control-c and then a right click "paste" is odd/ unintuitive.

I'm usually against the idea of batch buy and sales, what if the buy window came up with a table combining the functionality of a bunch of buy windows . Is multiple simultaneous buy windows a technical problem?

maybe you guys should make a buy/sell multiple items thread in the feature&ideas discussion? it's not really feedback on my dev blog since it's not really related to my changes so we're not going to get much further with it here Blink

I have another suggestion, aimed at newbies (they can use all the possible help to grasp this game).

When docked in a Primae, dropping a command center on top of it should not trigger an error but place said command center in the command center hold.

There's no mention of a command center hold in the right click ship menu as well, just cargo hold. I sharply remember my Orca having a menu for the various holds.

Also, there's no mention of a command center cargo in the bottom left of the fitting window.

Finally, it'd be cool to always open the inventory on the largest hold for the current ship. So a newbie (but also regular players for their other ships) would by default see the command center hold opening up. It's not like they can really use the 100m3 general hold anyway.
