Hello everyone,

As you can see on the expression of my avatar I'm a mature, quiet and patient person.
This also goes for real life Lol
I'm paying a full year membership right now.

I love this game and I can play it, but there is one thing I can't fix.

When I open "EVE Online" and then click the big "PLAY" button, the game almost never takes me to the login screen.
In 9 of 10 cases the game gets stuck and I need to force quit. I do this about 10 times and if i get lucky the game starts.

Here is what I already tried:

  1. EVE Repair Tool
  2. Clearing caches on Launcher
  3. Reinstalling everything
  4. Deleting Preference Files in Library
  5. Poking around in the EVE Online.app contents
  6. Screaming and cursing when i needed to "Force Quit" again Roll

My setup

ATI Radeon HD 4670:

Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 4670
Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 256 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x9488
Revision ID: 0x0000
ROM Revision: 113-B8030F-260
EFI Driver Version: 01.00.383
Resolution: 2560 x 1440
Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Built-In: Yes
Connection Type: DisplayPort

Hardware Overview

Model Name: iMac late 2009
Model Identifier: iMac10,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 3,06 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 6 GB
Bus Speed: 1,07 GHz
Boot ROM Version: IM101.00CC.B00
SMC Version (system): 1.53f13

So if there are any more suggestions on what I can try I'd be really happy.
Otherwise I have to stick to the "Force Quitting" routine.

Thanks all in advance

What graphics settings are you using?

Try with the minimum, ideally in windowed mode.

Your vram is pretty small imo, especially for your screen rez - hence my graphics setting question.

Thanks for the answer.
It didn't work. If the game runs, it runs fine with pretty high settings Smile

Probably not the best Advice but what happens when you Open the the App (rightclick) go to the Resource Folder in there and try to start the App without going trough the Launcher?

I have the same issue, but upgrading to Mountain Lion didn't fix it. I tried filing a ticket with support, but they told me to try clearing the caches (which I already had to no effect), and to run a repair tool whose download link was dead.

Hi Lazyhound,
I actually did a clean install of Mountain Lion.
My Mac was cluttered and now it runs like a ... erm ... Mountain Lion. Big smile

Do you hear me CCP? I did a clean install just to play EVEP

It was worth it though. I can start EVE now all the timeLol
