The reason you got scammed is because you took the risk with the wrong people, It's not their fault you used you own money to get the isk they scammed from you... scams are common in eve... may I ask where this space was?

Well, in real life if someone stole a hundred bucks I would definately refrain from threats of physical violence & possibly report them to the police even though I know full well that I would probably never see the money again. That however, is real money, not an ingame item that belongs to CCP.

You purchased an in game item dawg. that was it. Everything belongs to CCP anyways, you are just paying to use it, then you made a poor decision and gave it to someone you shouldn't have.

I agree but then how are you ever going to rent space? I know there actually some legit renters out there...thats the problem you cannot do any real checks, no contracts of something goes wrong etc. Mayeb i should of used chribba as a thrid party

Prime knows he is still in an NPC, but Prime thought the whole concept of the EVE was to take space not rent it.

So you transferred money from your wallet to someone else's in return for words. Try not to do that again.

Renting is not endorsed by CCP because there is no mechanic for it. It is 100% a player agreement which relies 100% on trust. Therefor you can in fact be scammed by untrustworthy people.

Scamming is an integral part of EVE welcomed by the designers and if you do not like that then there are other games for you.

As for RL Money, ISK is ISK and because you poured out your wallet to get it makes no difference. The ways to lose ISK have not changed nor is there any special protections period.

In other words tough luck you ****** up.

You can't fix stupid and trying too hard only takes good things away from everyone. It's much preferable to have the good things in the game for all to enjoy, put up a warning for people and then let stupid/naive people be themselves, ignore the warnings and fail.

let me help you out here

you bought the equivalent of gift certificates from CCP, and you gave away the gift certificates in exchange for some in-game stuff.

the same clauses that cover CCP's asses in case they go under and pull the plug on TQ are the same ones that say that, no, you can't really do anything about having been scammed.

npc alts have no opinions worth consideration

You paid for ISK, you got it, then you lost it

Quit ignoring the vital middle step in that equation. Not CCP's fault you lost it, not their problem

Also its lose, how do you loose ISK? you keep it in a cage and let it out?

Well, **** happens. Eve is notorious for it. Most players never scam but still understand that when you read the contract spam in Jita - someone is trying to rip you off. Most of us are comfortable that this is true. Many of us don't like scammers or thieves, but enjoy that it is part of the game.

I guarantee that pretty much everyone in the game (at least for longer than a few months) has been either scammed or had their stuff stolen at least once.

Running around screaming that anyone who supports the ability of people to steal and scam in a computer game must by definition be scammers... makes you look stupid.

Falling for an obvious scam without any form of colateral, background checking or basic understanding of the fact that you're liklely to get scammed, makes you look .... (Yes, you guessed it ) stupid.

Next time, engage your brain BEFORE you give away your hard earned ISK. ( or come crying to the forums expecting to get any sympathy)

Once you turned that RL money into in game items they became fair game. Nobody scammed you out of any RL money, you spent it, converted it and the items you got were then the subject of a scam.

Feel free to petition it but you'll be told exactly the same thing by any GM that may eventually respond to your petition.

my problem is most in game scams can be detected, as they form contracts that dont read right etc. The scams cannot be. and yes they are 100% player vs players and theres always a risk.

However this was a stupid scammer. Scammers dont ask you to send the isk to the alliance holding corp, they ask directly!! thast why i didnt think it was a scam, The alliance has however returned the isk.

The scam cannot be detected at all. There should be somethign in game. Best to use a thrid party guy i guess

3 billion LOL... the most I've paid as a renter was 200m per month for a corp of 33 pilots. And of course, it was paid on a month by month basis.

Funny thing, a google search for Tribal Band and Rent quickly resulted in this RL article. It tells the story of a failed rental property in NY, managed by a company called "The Tribe"... lol
