Wormhole stuff

Hello space friends

Just have an odd question that I don't really see an answer for:

Say you find an uninhibited wormhole and step inside. You see no activity ever in this hold.

You then lose the exit and are stuck.

You eject from your ship and self destruct your pod....

How long wil your ship stay floating in space? Until someone finds it, or is there some sort of timer on that?

Pretty much until someone finds it (perhaps with the aid of a flight o' combats), AIUI.

This is why you always fit a probe launcher to your W-space ships unless you are flying in a gang with dedicated probers, though. I have never gotten truly trapped in a WH even though I've flubbed hole rolling jobs and suchnot before.

On a different note: how concerned should you be about the other ways of getting stuck in a W-space system? (can't scan the static to 100% even though you have probes, can't fit through the static WH). I know we had a BS get stranded in a 4/1 a while back after a rolling op gone wrong...

There is a limit to how long ejected ships stay in place, but that limit is very long. Maybe a month or so. Inside a POS they never despawn.

Thanks for the quick answers!

So you can leave ships floating inside a POS area with them being relatively safe?

It's always been my understanding that only noobships and shuttles ever despawned. An old friend of mine once left a Vexor sitting in high-sec somewhere and when he came back to eve 4 months later it was still there. They may have changed this since then, however.

I left an Armageddon floating in a wormhole somewhere when I and a corpmate screwed up closing our static. I'm sure someone found it and took it by now, but maybe it's still floating there.

The bad thing is, if you leave a ship like that and someone shoots it, you'll get a loss mail. Even if you weren't in the system anymore.

I'd be quite surprised to see a cruiser stay in space for a month these days before someone found it while scanning for a war target. T1 frigates I could see leaving alone, but a cruiser with T2 mods would be worth the time to dock up and list on the local market.

Who here has found cool stuff like ships just floating somewhere for no reason?

It'd be cool of it showed a date or something that it was last occupied

a corp mate found a rr tengu just sitting in a wormhole, its now chilling in my section of the pos(fitted to not be as terrible as it once was)

Oh, Do go on... no seriously ive got nothing better to do then listen to all the petty arguments and feeble trolling attempts...

The sad thing is i'm not sure if i'm telling the truth.

We've run into numerous derelict POSs. I think the only other instance where we stumbled upon unoccupied anything was two noob ships.

Two little noob ships. Very creepy in some sense, almost reminded me of a live event in the recent past.

You mean Lianda Burreau's lost helios, destroyed with ultra-rare, multi-billion isk item aboard?
