Image server bug?

The image sever seems to be messing up facial features after you update your portrait.

On the left is what I saw in the character creator and what was initially stored locally on my machine. The portrait on the right is what I saw a few hours after updating the portrait, I'm assuming this is what the client pulled from the image server after it got updated.

Hi there, could you enter a defect bug report about this issue please and I'll investigate further. Also, if you put my name in the report title that would be great.

Thank you for raising this issue.

I confirm this, when i changed my avatar in sisi the resulting character's chin was different in local and image server.

This night i'll post a bug with the resulting images, local and image server.

Excellent, thanks.
Could you also put my name in the report title please.
This makes it a lot easier for me to track down.

One more thing CCP RedDawn, unrelated to the image server bug, but something you touched on earlier for me. I noticed while on my bug report page that it said the underwear bug (report ID 116541) was Fixed in: 2012 ERNESTO. So are we just waiting for the deployment of the fix now?

This problem is occurring for me as well. Whenever the test server renders my portrait, my avatar's features within the portrait seem to reset completely.

ERNESTO is the version that is on TQ right now, next up (next week) is FLORENCE, then GORDON, and then HELENE; you get the picture.

The internal systems tell me that the defect was fixed on 2012 GORDON and is awaiting deployment.

Seems like you should create a feature request for the bug tracking system to have a "notify this person" field on reports. And of course make it searchable on that field.

As CCP Explorer mentioned above, this issue is indeed fixed and just awaiting deployment. Big smile

We tracked the issue down to some experimental changes to the way characters are pulled from the DB which fixes a couple of other problems. Our courageous DB admins have updated everything to try a new approach that hopefully will achieve the fix we want without making characters look weird in the portrait renders!

We're testing this internally as well but if you guys can keep an eye out for any weirdness in the portrait renders on Sisi that would be greatly appreciated.

Nice, I'll keep an eye open for any more weirdness.

Oh and thank you CCP RedDawn and CCP Explorer for the update on that old bug I asked about.

Okay, that change didn't work either so it's back to the drawing board to tackle the other issues from a different direction. We're back to running the old code and will be looking at forcing a re-render on affected characters.

I've manually triggered a re-render on Commissar Kate, Einar Matveinen, Oberine Noriepa, MailDeadDrop on SiSi. It will take a while for the new images to propagate.

The portrait seems normal now after your manual re-render.
