How Accurate Are Ship Scanners?

Do ship scanners give an accurate picture of how a ship is fit?

Is a T2 scanner more accurate than a T1, or does it just have more range?

If you scan several times, does the scan get more accurate?

thanks

100% accurate at first scanning. Don't know difference between T1 and T2 to be honest, think it's just scanning time, possibly scanning range too.

T2 is better at getting it right.

I've never seen a bad result aka something that wasnt on the scanned ship but I frequently see things missing or things named double that arent actually on the ship twice.

These gaps and false doubles are limited by the T2 scanner and the skill at a higher level.
