Bumping ships

Is there any real formula as to how far you can bump a ship? I have read a couple posts of people getting off great bumps and bouncing people 10+ km out, in say a cruiser vs. an industrial. Just the past weekend I had a station camper pull off a perfect bump preventing me from getting away but that time I only seemed to move a few km.

So is there a formula using ship masses and speed that can be used semi reliably?
What would it take to bump a station hugging orca or carrier any significant distance?

Regards.

I suggest you contact EVE's master of bumping, James 315.

Wormholes are cool, m'kay?

Bumping a carrier off of a dock *** station pretty much requires a Mach or two... and even then, they have plenty of time to dock up while they slowly coast out of range.

There is no hard limit. It depends on the mass and velocity of ships involved, their agility, the angle they ran into each other, etc.

I've seen ships bumped off grid in one bounce.

Get a supercapital and put the cyno ship right between the enemy capital and the station.

Light the cyno, jump the super.

Watch the carrier fly at speeds that haven't been seen since the nano age.

Danny, Danny, Danny... please man, trade that Ghetto stabber in for a bumping Fleet Stabber and then you're in bidness. Lol

Speaking of epic bumping, I had a corpmate about a year and a half ago who tricked out his Orca Alt w/ a deadspace Orca and a full Snake set. It was hilarious watching that Flying Turbo Whale bump freighters halfway across the damned system.

Aaah, reminds me of the days of nano-geddons, when you could easily bump a miner 100km+ out of a belt Twisted

Nowadays it's a lot harder, although I did once land inside a gate model in my freighter at exactly the same time as a megathron. I last saw it leaving grid sideways at about 14km/s, accompanied by a 'WTF?!' in local.

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

One time I used a Scythe (yes, a Scythe) to bump a miner off-grid. It took about 20 minutes. I told him to pay me 20 mil and he could keep mining. He refused and decided to swear at me instead. Eventually he got so mad that he attacked me with drones and got the special CONCORDOKEN!!!!!!!! touch. It was a glorious day.
