None of them have shown this is possible.

Please indulge me with the following ->
List a gank-proof fit that can still allow the ship to do its base function for a reasonable profit.

Requirements:
- Fit must protect against at least TWO properly fit catalysts for 20 seconds OR ONE battleship for 10 seconds.
- Must be able to mine at least 75% of its potential yield.

This is based off Concord times since Mining ships are still allowed in HiSec and te obvious nature of the attack takes this into account. Thank you.

Since Alpha > tank = successful gank, you can ask the question you are asking till you are blue in the face and it will be irrelevant. And it will also belong in the 100+ page thread already open about it, or one of the smaller 100 threads about the same thing.

I love how forum rules are loosely enforced at will.

Not really a hulk pilot but as long as you're not afk mining I think this would work.

It's a tight fit. You give up 14% yield by loseing the lows to power grid mods. The tank is as follows.

EHP 20,514
75em
65 th
73kn
75ex

You can change the resists around, I'm just assuming they are going to use EM ammo. Of course the best defense is to be over far away from the warp in for the belt, be passively aligned, be watching D-Scan for combat probes or common ganking ships, and warp out at the first sign of trouble.

That will work, but you'll be running to station to dump ore everytime your lasers cycle if you like to work alone.

Thats the point, you should have to give something up to avoid being ganked.

Want to be able to survive most ganks? Fit a tank.

Want max yield and good cargo? Don't fit a tank.

Should have to choose one or the other....but the 8th screws all that up....

I am not sure what part of the dev saying that ganking wasnt designed to be profitable you guys dont get? You can still gank all day all night 23/7. Come 080812 gank away. You just wont make money doing it.

LOL everything in this game is a choice. You can mine a little less and die a lot less, or you can mine a little more and get killed by destroyers, I see what you did there with the wording Lol but the plain fact of the matter is if you put a tank on the hulk you make more money because the only thing killing you at that point is multiple BC's full gank fit and thats only if you AFK mine like a complete ******* idiot. actively mine, aligned to station or pos or safe with tank mods in the mid slots and use at least one rig for shield and you will find that ship gets a lot less squishy.

Can you max yield a tanked hulk? no you can't, DUH. But you can make a decent tank with a small sacrifice in yield. But hey if that extra few hundred m3 is worth dieing over, by all means get ganked trying to get it.

I would provide a fit but i am at work currently and telling you to figure out how to use any of the ever growing number of fitting tools is the best I can do. Pro tip, looks for mid slot mods that mention things like resist and sheild in the title.
