Experimental market auto-caching in game browser page

Seeing how 3rd party websites have a quite annoying attitude at crashing or being slow I created a nasty, bare looking but functional web page that may be loaded in the IGB.

All it does is to auto-switch items in the market window so you can fill your client cache with updated data and then do whatever you want with it: submit to EvE-Central / EvE-Market Data / EvEMarketeer or directly use it with EvE-Mentat / Reverence scripts.
Along with the EvEMarketeer Uploader it's part of what I currently use to create my charts.

I am not going to post this in the Tech Labs forum because I don't want my server to be flooded, it's for MD.
I know other websites have similar pages but they are either slow or require reloads to change items and / or those websites are sometimes running and sometimes down (expecially EvEMarketeer.com).

Usage:

1) Open the IGB and go to this URL.

2) Add that URL to the trusted sites.

3) Add the URL as bookmark.

4) Open the market window (empty is OK).

5) Click to the kind of data you want to save: the regular market orders ("Market Data") tab will only save market orders, if you click on the "Price History" tab it will only save the market history. Make sure to set it to year so you save as many data as possible.

6) In the IGB web page you'll have some simple buttons.
Pressing the button to the right of a certain items category will make the market window cycle through all those items and then restart from the first item. The cycling is used by some uploaders.
The cycling will not stop until you press the last "Stop the updates" button.

The cycling takes some time due to several factors and EvE anti-server overload mechanics.

If you find the page useful please visit the rest of the website and click on some banners. It is not free to me hosting it.

Or donate to the VAERT charity.

Please PLEASE make it so that I can load my own configurable list of items to scan. I would pay real money (EVE real of course) for something like that. Evemarketeer used to have that functionality, it doesn't anymore, and I don't know of any site that does.

That page is brutally assembled to do my personal tasks.

In order to make a proper customizable list I'd need to add database support which in turn involves configuring daemons on the server and so on. My utter lack of contiguous time won't let me to.

If you desire your own custom list I'll create an hard coded custom page for you, please eve mail me to discuss the details.

Is it possible to do something as simple as adding the list of items to browser cookies, or even HTTP get parameters?

It is, but it opens the page to thousands of regular and XSS exploits able to nuke my server. I would have to setup a nice environment where to sanitize inputs and whatever is needed. Probably too long of a task.

Take the page.

Save a local copy.

Edit the lists of type ids.

open the local page.

Win.

Yeah it's not like I made it hard to fiddle with.
I even put debug stuff everywhere and wrote it without any 3rd party library or include.
It's also decently modular so all you have to do is to copy and paste a section and edit a couple of suffixes (and item IDs of course).

In order you won't have to remember about / bookmark this thread I added a proper post on my website with some litte more details.

I also added the page to the website menu, go to Games => EvE Online => VEMEX => EvE markets auto-cache downloader.

Don't measure everyone with your meter. It's only good to measure yourself and your mentality.

Anyone using EvE Income Analyzer or NEISIN etc. can type here how much they are paying for.

Edit:
It's not like I'd have to justify anything of what I do to you anyway, even if I asked for 50M it'd be a far cry from the hundreds of billions you and your friends made by screwing the game mechanics.

Honest question because I think this looks like a really cool tool, and I'm new to market tools, has CCP whitelisted having the IGB automatically switch through the market? I'm guessing they have, since I assume this is using some IGB hook/tool/whatever to do the switching. Just want to check first.

Thanks, I have figured it out. I never realized it was that simple!

Yes, CCP have stated several times that this is allowed. There is a rather harsh cooldown timer in place to prevent abuse.

Have you found a way to automatically create/update a chart with the cache? I hate having to manually download the ohlc file from marketeer every time...
