War update! Northern Strike (the alliance that Mentally Assured Destruction [U-MAD] joined) has retracted their war; Omniscient Order [OMNOR] has declared war. These last several days, the war with Northern Strike became quite interesting: an all-round great demonstration by fleet grunts, allies, people with feathers in their hats, people without feathers in their hats, and all kinds of other people. Let's see what Omniscient Order will bring!

Fleets, events, rather more spectacular events, and classes continue apace. I wish I could write more! *

Membership numbers are climbing, application backlog remains minimal. If you have applied and not received an EVE Mail from the PO Department within 48 hours (based on current application load), it's a good idea to check that you followed all the instructions linked above. Contact a Personnel Officer if you are still having trouble.

The best place to find your feet in Eve Online. They will take you through the basics and show you a little of almost every part of the game. Then when you know what you want to do moving forward, they can help you find the right corp.

I'll give Eve Uni another free bump. One other thing that is great about them is an awesome Alumni network. The Uni's work fair helps funnel newer players into post-grad corporations that work for them such as WH's, SOV Null, NPC Null, Low Sec Pirates, etc. Uni grads / alumns have opportunties that might not be available elsewhere.

It's no wonder forums everywhere tend to be so knotted and twisted when there are so many bumps.

Our Director of Education, Neville Smit, has stepped down to experience life outside the station. His replacement is Bairfhionn Isu, a name that I can only ever remember as something different. Find out more here!

Thanks, E-UNI! I learned a lot and found everyone in the University to be so helpful. Off now to try out some of what I learned in other arenas...

To anyone thinking about applying to E-UNI, do it! Be patient if the application/interview process takes awhile. And while it's not required, I recommend moving to Aldrat early on to maximize your experience, at least initially.

News! (sort of)

  • Project: Solitude is progressing nicely! Information can be found on our wiki and forums, though some information is available only to current members.
  • The perpetual Frigate FFA is a nice venue for some straight forward PvP practice. Information can be found on our wiki and forums, though some information is available only to current members.
  • Fleets, classes, Q&As continue as usual. Arbitrarily featured: regular newbie-focused wormhole fleets have been happening for a little while now, and are a great learning opportunity for a very exciting aspect of the game.

Regarding the application process, I would like to give the following advice: here is much to read and it can be daunting, especially combined with all the actual game information. Taking the time to thoroughly go through the application steps, following the instructions closely, will greatly smooth the process for both you and us. Neglecting a step or two can easily lead to an otherwise unnecessary interview, which will greatly add to your wait. Time spent reading is time well invested.

At any point in the process -- from being unsure if this corporation is for you, to waiting for your application to be processed, and beyond -- you are more than welcome in our public channel. There you can ask questions and socialize; you will meet Personnel Officers, members, alumni, prospective members, and many friendly strangers.

Application processed within 48 hours perhaps -- but that says nothing about the potential WEEKS in "The Queue".

I have no doubt that E-UNI is a great corporation, and the first six steps of the process are very straightforward. Just be prepared for what seems like "initiation hazing" in the form of the EVE equivalent of the DMV line at Step 7.

If you've been in the queue for weeks (and I know you haven't Mr Snuggles, as I just checked), then clearly you are either doing something very wrong, or stuck some time in March last year, if so you should come join us in 2012 - we have fancier looking ships, and missile effects now.

We sort of changed things a little at the end of March. There are, at time of writing, a total of seven applications going back to 02:10 this morning which have been submitted and are awaiting review. The recruitment staff will look through them, and either accept, reject, or contact the applicant requesting more info (either update the questionnaire, or have a chat).

And even those that apply in-game but don't submit a questionnaire are contacted after a few days, pointing them in the right direction, and the majority of applications are accepted within 24 hours of submitting their questionaire.

So, yea, you may have some outdated information there, Mr Snuggles.

With the Power of 2 and all the PLEX sales happening this weekend, many new players may join and even old players who left for a while may come back.

EVE University is the perfect starting player Corporation for new players and those who have been gone for a long time to (re-)familiarize themselves with EVE and everything it has to offer.

Two things of note that I can think of to mention:

RvB has joined EVE University as allies against U-MAD. Yes, RED Federation and BLUE Republic, working together. After a history of good fights with the Uni, I would dare to say that Purple continues fighting in the name of good fights.

In other news, a fresh class of Personnel Officers are completing training and have joined the effort in keeping our backlogs low. The queues were reduced to 0 earlier today and there are now only a handful of applications to be processed. Some waiting should still be expected.

The war with The Unwilling has come and gone. It was a good experience and we look forward to seeing more from them. o7

Our other wars are ongoing, with a new one incoming form L33T POKEMON TRAINERS. I think I spelled that correctly, and I don't think I was hallucinating.

The ILN, our military arm, is coming out of hibernation and much good is planned. A relevant Q&A is coming this weekend.
