Hello all

I see on occasion real emotion in replies on these forums, i am as much guilty for trolling as anyone else but there always has to be said that emotions and reason drive humans to do things for long periods of time based in pre-conceived ides of what our game world and what our world should be.

So,

why do you play EvE Online?
What drives you to log on everyday?
What is your force behind your impulses on this game?
Why this game over so many MMO's?

For Me

1. Sandbox, perfect
2. The friends Ive made on here
3. To strive to understand as much as i can about eve online
4. Because i dislike simple games.

So i was curious as to the communitys *whys* etc. I will also like every positive post on this thread as it goes, deplorable or trolling i will not. Also remember to like the post :)

1. being able to do whatever i want in a game that doesnt punish me for being a jackass if i want to(so sandbox i guess?)
2. see 1.
3. whatever is most fun at the time
4. every other mmo (with the exception of WoW) failed to hold my attention for longer than a few months.

There is so much to do here, I just can't get bored. It's a game unlike anything else I've found. Never really liked traditional WOW style MMOs, I was mostly playing things like Entropia, but EVE is something else entirely.

Pretty much this. I hate games with a linear story that you have to follow on rails. EVE is the opposite of that.

1. I am a sucker for complex games, double plus good if they are terrible sci-fi games.
2. I don't, I have a life.
3. If I knew that I probably could turn a profit from it.
4. See #1.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

why do you play EvE Online? -team play/effort to achieve something unique, scrubs tears harvesting

What drives you to log on everyday? - have fun playing, forum gaming (this is fantastic), scrubs tears harvesting

What is your force behind your impulses on this game? -it's a game not RL, so pixels come pixels go but some times you make friends and decisions might become less easier but overall it's just a game, tears harvesting from serious "space ships pilots" are just awesome.

Why this game over so many MMO's? - because actions have meanings and consequences always come around, sooner than later. Did I mentioned scrubs tear harvesting?

This is pretty accurate.
Collect and train all the ships.

Corp mates and alliance members, we have a good time on TS3 and a good time roaming, blobing, anoming, or just shooting the s**t.

Just look at all the other games nowadays. Developers are racing towards their ultimate goal, which is a game playing itself, without that disgusting concept called "player input". Difficulty scales from "uber-easy" to "still almost uber-easy". EvE is one of the very few exceptions to this line of thinking. Right now, I'm trying to fail at as many internet-spaceship-professions as possible, and boy do I suceed. And I like that.

<3 EvE. (and <3 Paradox Games, while I'm at it).

1. Pretty spaceships. Plenty of space to fly around. Other people flying around there, too.
2. I don't log on every day (aside from updating the skill queue). I play once or twice a month.
3. Flying around in space.
4. I never played any other MMO. I've been on Second Life for years, and I'm still there occasionally to create some pretty stuff I can sell to other players (and actually make a little real money with that). As far as player creativity, diversity, sandboxiness and my wallet are concerned Second Life mops the floor with Eve. You can't fly around in spaceships, though.
